Updating/upgrading SCL components

Hi all, I have installed a new CentOS 7 vm fully updated. For technical reasons, I need to use MySQL 5.6.x, PHP 5.6 and NGNIX 1.x web server. To accomplish this, I have decided to use SCL components from CentOS's http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/sclo/, but I have some doubts/questions: a/ What are the differences between rh-php56-X. and sclo-php56-X packages, for example?? b/ When these tools will be updated? .. In concrete with NGINX version. Official's NGINX stable release is 1.10.x, but in SCL repos only appears 1.8.X release .. Why? Many thanks for your attention. -- Greetings, C. L. Martinez

Checking signed repo metadata by default?

Hi there, I stumbled upon an older post by Johnny Hughes about gpg-checking the repository metadata. [1] In the mean time, we seem to have signed metadata not only for "updates", but also for "base", "extras" and "centosplus" (just the "base" signature for CentOS Linux 6 is missing). What are the reasons for not enabling the repo gpg check in our default installation? Would it be a bad idea to do that in our Vagrant images? [opstools] overwriting package provided config files

Hello, for opstools-ansible[1], which installs a monitoring server, we had the brief discussion of overwriting/replacing package provided config files vs. adding changes to a .d directory for the application. Specifically, this was the request for collectd. Additional plugins and are loaded and configured by placing a respective config snippet to /etc/collectd.d/...conf. The question is: is it a valid expectiation, that operators wouldn't want the package provided config file /etc/collectd.conf modified? Do you care at all? [OPSTOOLS] First round of patches for oVirt

Hi all, Now pushed to gerrit a series of patches to allow using opstools-ansible for configuring collectd and fluentd on oVirt hosts. The first patch [1] adds documentation so you can read it first, even if eventually it might be merged later (or not at all :-( ). Some of the patches are probably useful even without the context of oVirt, and I pushed them separately so that they can be more easily reviewed. Update on status of CentOS Community Container Pipeline

Hi All, Here is update for the work done recently in CentOS Community Container Pipeline. * Added scanner to check pip, npm, rubygems * Fixed weekly scan to support integer in tags * Updated ci script check dependency cycles. * New images got in pipeline: datamodel containers, mattermost integration with trello, gitlab * Fixed build worker to handle job with large logs In the coming days, we will be focusing on: * Add more checks to scanner check pip, npm, rubygems updates * Scaling up openshift nodes for parallel building * Writing logs for workers and builder and make them available for public access. * Get jenkins container images available from r.c.o * Fixing CI for pipeline to result with proper status of build Regards Bamacharan Kundu

Should we skip the next Vagrant release (v1612)?

Hello, we usually perform monthly releases for our Vagrant images, containing updated packages and some enhancements or bug fixes to the images themselves. Since we now have a C7 builder, I tried again to disable kdump in our images, but CBS still didn't play along. [1] As for updated packages, the only update missing from our last Vagrant images (v1611.01) is vim-minimal, whose size is just 436kB. From my perspective, that doesn't justify the work involved in releasing another Vagrant image, neither for us nor for our users.
