CentOS cloud images - release details

I’ve been using the latest 1707 QCOW image from the cantos VM image archive and I noticed that the release file still states [centos@srv-1g16s ~]$ more /etc/redhat-release CentOS Linux release 7.3.1611 (Core) Is keeping the the ‘1611’ static deliberate or should that number update to reflect the image release number? Container Pipeline: RPM Update tracking disabled temporarily

Hi All, Due to some issues in RPM update checks, we are temporarily disabling the feature: image update based on update in RPMS in it, from Centos Community Container Pipeline Service[1]. [Centos-devel][NFV] Is libconfuse-devel package missing from cbs?

All: Am I doing something wrong? I get this error in a recent build if vpp when encountering a BuildRequires pre-requisite in my spec file. Status Update: Centos Community Container Pipeline

Hi All, Here is an update on the recent works done in Centos Community Container Pipeline * Registry is now accessible through UI, https://registry.centos.org. we have only https enabled for now. This lists down all the images and tags in the registry[1]. * Sentry is set for monitoring application, with updated application logs and levels. * Build notification emails are now segregated based on the stage the service running on. * Jenkins jobs are now synced with the container-index. It updates accordingly with changes from container-index[2]. Our recent focus is: * Getting the provision script to clear environment before deploying * Serialize Dockerfile linters to run before builder builds the image from it. * Getting unnecessary tags cleared from registry.centos.org * Updating opnshift origin to use latest versions [1]https://registry.centos.org/repositories [2]https://github.com/centos/container-index Regards Bamacharan Kundu

CentOS services being DDoS'd

hi guys We've got a service being hammered, and Fabian's had a look - we have no clear solution on howto best mitigate and manage this. We need help. buildlogs.centos.org hosts, amongst other things, isos for our monthly builds - which are being downloaded repeatedly. Fabian, can you add specifics on what the problem space is ? Release notes of centos genericcloud image?

Hi list, I found centos genericcloud image for openstack at https://docs.openstack.org/image-guide/obtain-images.html#centos but I didn't found any release note for these images, so I didn't known what's difference between genericcloud image and the official centos release, e.g. centos 6.8, 7.2 release and etc. Is there any wiki/doc/releasenote? -- Thanks, Chengwei

[infra] DevCloud migration (users, please read)

Hi, Some of you actually use our DevCloud (https://wiki.centos.org/DevCloud) as a playground/sandbox environment when willing to test some deployments/scratch operations. We want you to notice that we'll completely refresh that environment next week, so DevCloud itself will be unavailable during the reinstall phase, but also all VMs currently running in that environment will also be destroyed (it's a "cloud" and for dev/testing so everything could be considered ephemeral ) Details of the migration: - setting up two new dedicated storage boxes (each using SSD disks for faster storage backend for the provisioned VMs) - reinstalling the hypervisors from CentOS 6 to CentOS 7 - migrating to RDO/OpenStack (Ocata release) - DevCloud users rights in OpenStack will be synced from ACO (https://accounts.centos.org) Due to the fact that we also have to remove some physical components from some nodes to other nodes, we'll have to shutdown the whole environment. The maintenance window is scheduled for """"Tuesday August 1st, 2:00 pm UTC time"""". You can convert to local time with $(date -d '2017-08-01 14:00 UTC') We'll do our best to keep the maintenance window as short as possible, but we also have a lot of things to reconfigure behind the scene (including new network switches). We'll announce when the new DevCloud environment will be available and ready to be used. All users are so encouraged to save what they want/need before that date, as everything will disappear.
