CentOS Dojo, Brussels. February 2nd (2 weeks from NOW)

Two weeks from today we'll be holding the annual CentOS Dojo at FOSDEM, held at the Marriott Grand Place, starting at 8:30 am with coffee, and talks starting at 9:30, February 2nd. If you'll be at FOSDEM, please come a day early for this awesome community event, with talks, lunch, community, and then join us afterwards at Delerium for the FOSDEM Beer Event. While the event is free, we do need you to register, so that we know how much we'll need to bring out for lunch. We know that there are a lot of events before FOSDEM this year, but this one is, of course, the best, and you don't want to miss it. Rebooting the Centos-Community-Container-pipeline servers due to CVE updates

Hi, Due to the CVE updates required for the machines. We are doing the following. * yum update the machines * reboot them * Deploy the service with the code to get weekly scan email back. so there would be some interruption for the container-pipeline and https://registry.centos.org. we are trying to minimize it as far as we can. v2 manifests for Container repository, plan?

Hi All, I am particularly interested in multi-arch containers. I've looked around https://registry.centos.org and it appears that v1 manifests are used exclusively. Is this accurate, and is there a plan to move to V2 manifests and provide multi-arch containers? best regards,Richard

Infrastructure management change for Fedora

Some of you who follow Fedora development as well as CentOS may have seen an email go out this morning[1] about me taking over as the reporting manager for the Fedora Infrastructure team, and I wanted to post here as well to be open about the change. As of February 1, I'll be managing the Fedora Infra teams in addition to the CentOS engineering team inside RH. This is largely an internal procedural thing that doesn't change my commitment to the CentOS project, and doesn't impact the day to day missions of either team. LinchPin v1.5.0 has been released

New Version of CentOS Atomic Host Available for Download

The CentOS Atomic SIG has released an updated version (https://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup/Atomic/Download) of CentOS Atomic Host (7.1712), a lean operating system designed to run Linux containers, built from standard CentOS 7 RPMs, and tracking the component versions included in Red Hat Enterprise Linux Atomic Host. This release includes updated kernel[1], linux-firmware[2] and microcode_ctl[3] packages to address recent security advisories, alongside other minor updates that shipped during the month of December. New Apache Cassandra SCL (sclo-cassandra3) in centos-sclo-sclo-testing

Hi folks, I've been working on Cassandra SCL (called sclo-cassandra3, Cassandra version 3.11.0) recently, continuing the work started by Tomas Repik, and now I inform you that it is available for testing in CentOS (centos-sclo-sclo-testing repository). Cassandra is a partitioned row store. Rows are organized into tables with a required primary key. Partitioning means that Cassandra can distribute your data across multiple machines in an application-transparent matter. Cassandra will automatically re-partition as machines are added/removed from the cluster. Row store means that like relational databases, Cassandra organizes data by rows and columns. The Cassandra Query Language (CQL) is a close relative of SQL. To install: sudo yum install centos-release-scl sudo yum --enablerepo=centos-sclo-sclo-testing install sclo-cassandra3 sclo-cassandra3-cassandra To start the service: sudo systemctl start sclo-cassandra3-cassandra To run the cqlsh client tool: scl enable sclo-cassandra3 rh-java-common rh-maven33 cqlsh Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
