--- title: CPE Weekly status email tags: CPE Weekly, email --- # CPE Weekly: 2020-03-06 Background: The Community Platform Engineering group is the Red Hat team combining IT and release engineering from Fedora and CentOS. Our goal is to keep core servers and services running and maintained, build releases, and other strategic tasks that need more dedicated time than volunteers can give. For better communication, we will be giving weekly reports to the CentOS and Fedora communities about the general tasks and work being done. Also for better communication between our groups we have created #redhat-cpe on Freenode IRC! Update: CentOS Dojo at Facebook postponed

Due to the change in the status of Red Hat Summit (https://www.redhat.com/en/blog/moving-red-hat-summit-2020-virtual-experience) we have made the decision to postpone the CentOS Dojo at Facebook to a later date. Many of our potential speakers, as well as many of our attendees, had travel plans that were dependent on attendance at Red Hat Summit, and without that event happening they are no longer able to travel. If you have already registered for the event, we encourage you to stay registered, so that we have an easy way to contact you about event updates through Eventbrite. We do still plan to hold an event at Facebook, but, due to the current corona virus situation, we are holding off on making any firm plans until the danger has passed. I was asked to repost a thread from the CentOS forum on this mailing list: Sorry for starting a new thread. But there has not been any activity on the old thread for a month (2020-02-05) except for my request for a status update a week ago (2020-02-26) for which there was no reply. Can someone please tag the update so that it can be installed by users. The packages available to users are still broken, even though the update was built almost two month ago (2020-01-07). And before someone replies "should be fixed in RHEL first" before reading the references above - this is a CentOS only bug that never existed in RHEL.
