How CentOS 7 Vagrant images are built

Hello, I have a questions around official Vagrant CentOS 7 images. 1) Why images are not updated anymore to Vagrant Cloud ? In the past, images where uploaded to https://app.vagrantup.com/centos/boxes/7 but that doesn't seem to be the case right now. However, I see that latest images are available here : https://cloud.centos.org/centos/7/vagrant/x86_64/images/ 2) How do you build these images ? I only found https://git.centos.org/centos/kickstarts repository which seems to contain all kickstarts files but I would like to read your packer recipes. https://github.com/CentOS/sig-cloud-instance-build seems outdated and I found https://github.com/lpancescu/sig-cloud-instance-build/ (a fork) with vbox-packer and libvirt-packer branches but there seems to be outdated too. Handling packages retired in epel but not yet available in CentOS?

Hi, We're working on validating CentOS 8 for some desktop use cases at work, and noticed that after working fine on a machine that's installed several months ago, it's now failing on a freshly-installed machine. Turns out that we need libzstd, which on the previous machine was sourced from the EPEL repo, but the epel8 package got retired 3 months ago because the package is now in RHEL's BaseOS: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/zstd/history/dead.package?identifier=epe… The package is only in BaseOS in 8.2 though, and CentOS 8.2 is not out -- the only repo that has it now is 8-stream: https://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/centos/8-stream/BaseOS/x86_64/os/Packages/ 8.1.1911 does not have the package: https://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/centos/8.1.1911/BaseOS/x86_64/os/Packages/ Also, the version in BaseOS (if 8-stream is up to date) is 1.4.2, which is older than the last version in EPEL (1.4.4). Is anyone else in the same situation, and how do you work around it? Since EPEL is a sort of "rolling release" does it make sense to just track 8-stream if you're using it, or are people resorting to hosting these key packages in internal repos? Currently our entire infra team are engaged in a datacentre move, and then our team will be assisting in the F33 release so the rest of 2020 is pretty full to say the least! This lengthy period of investigation is good though because it serves as a great opportunity to explore every inch of this project technically to ensure the best possible outcome from this change that everyone benefits from. We as a team can actively engage in real time with the community via the [ticket filed in GitLab](https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/217350) by cverna for technical mapping and through my office hours on IRC @ 1300 UTC on #fedora-meeting-1 every Thursday for real conversation and engagement with us. Its optional, but I really appreciate when people can stop by and talk to me (and us) about this. During these office hours I was reminded the Pagure community was owed some insight on how Pagure was viewed during the process. We needed that so we made a reusable module that all our Flask apps should be able to use should they need to. It’s on PyPI already, and very simple to use. ### Sustaining Team * We have Pull Requests for the ansible repo :-) and it works great. cups-pdf CentOS7 package works fine on CentOS 8

Hi, This packages https://centos.pkgs.org/7/epel-x86_64/cups-pdf-2.6.1-7.el7.x86_64.rpm.html doesn't seems to exist for CentOS 8. However I installed the CentOS 7 version on a CentOS 8 installation and it worked. So someone can just promote the package to CentOS 8 without problems. Regards Martin

CentOS Stream 8.2 release

If CentOS Stream is "upstream" of RedHat then how can RH 8.2 be released when Stream is still on 8.1.1911 ? Have I misunderstood the release model ? Thanks.
