centos-packager update for Fedora 31?

Hi there, is there an updated centos-packager version somewhere, that works with Fedora 31? sudo dnf install centos-packager Last metadata expiration check: 1:35:13 ago on Thu 02 Jan 2020 05:30:08 CET. Error: Problem: package centos-packager-0.5.5-2.fc28.noarch requires python-centos, but none of the providers can be installed - conflicting requests - nothing provides python-urllib3 needed by python-centos-0.1.1-2.fc28.noarch - nothing provides python-lockfile needed by python-centos-0.1.1-2.fc28.noarch - nothing provides python-munch needed by python-centos-0.1.1-2.fc28.noarch (try to add '--skip-broken' to skip uninstallable packages) Best, Matthias

CentOS Stream: Respin and new kernel features

Hi Folks, First a bit of administrivia: If you have installed CentOS Stream from the initial spin, please be sure that you have centos-release-stream installed on your system. We had a bug in that compose that caused centos-release-stream to not get laid out on-disk at install time. Please run: `dnf install centos-release-stream` followed by `dnf update` For this respin of CentOS Stream we want to highlight new work in the kernel that enables Pressure Stall Information accounting: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/accounting/psi.html Give this a test! If there are comments related to this feature, feel free to start a discussion here on centos-devel. The latest CentOS Stream content is still seeding to the mirror network, but we expect it to coalesce over the next days. You can download install DVDs from the download page: https://www.centos.org/download/ A final note about CentOS Linux 8.1.1911: we are working diligently to get this ready for release. Stay tuned here for more information. We've included much of the same content as 8.1.1911 in this CentOS Stream respin both for your comments, and to help us promote CentOS Stream as a continuous feed of new features. CentOS Linux 8.0.1905 Continuous Release Populated

Hi Folks, We've populated CentOS Linux 8.0.1905 with content from the upcoming 8.1.1911 GA Release: https://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories/CR This includes only the GA content at this time (0-day updates are still pending). One of the major things we're working on is matching the x86_64 multilib content set with upstream, be prepared for changes to i686 packages that may be removed at release time for CentOS Linux. As usual, this content takes a little while to make it out to the mirror network, but it should coalesce shortly. Hi everyone, Welcome to the CPE team weekly project update mail! Important Note: Please note there will be no weekly emails over the holiday period of 23rd December 2019 - 2nd January 2020*. The next CPE weekly email will be sent on Friday 10th January 2020. As you may be aware, either from the CPE weekly emails or from previous years, Red Hat has a mandatory shutdown period between Christmas and New Year in many countries. This allows most associates to celebrate the holiday season with friends and family and recharge their batteries after a busy year. Multiple Red Hat teams will be observing this period, including Fedora & CentOS infrastructure teams, and we want to raise awareness that availability will be minimal during this time. *While the formal shutdown period ends on the 2nd of January 2020, many people will not be back until Monday the 6th of January 2020. As all of our team members are also passionate Community members, there may be some coverage, but this is not guaranteed and will be on a best effort basis. Any coverage offered will ultimately be at the personal choice of the individual during their time off. We want to take this time to wish you and yours a healthy and happy Christmas period and a most prosperous New Year. We look forward to working closely with you over the coming year! Background: The Community Platform Engineering group is the Red Hat team combining IT and release engineering from Fedora and CentOS. Our goal is to keep core servers and services running and maintained, build releases, and other strategic tasks that need more dedicated time than volunteers can give. For better communication, we will be giving weekly reports to the CentOS and Fedora communities about the general tasks and work being done. Howdy y'all! I'd like to introduce myself to the community. My name is Carl. I was born and raised in Texas. I served in the U.S. Army for seven years. After I left the military, I worked for Rackspace for eight years. I was recently hired by Red Hat to work on CentOS Stream. During my time I Rackspace, I ran the IUS project. That naturally led me to get involved in the Fedora and EPEL communities. I enjoy RPM packaging, collaborating with upstream projects, and enabling users to accomplish their missions. I'm looking forward to helping make CentOS Stream a success. --- Carl George

During that time, some operators will be monitoring tickets and services for large scale outages, but will not be active on IRC or email. The ability of the operators to fix problems is also limited because some operations require staff who will be away. People on duty will do what they can to repair and maintain services but do not give any ETA on how long it will take for it to be done. If you are making changes to infrastructure during this time, please treat it like a ‘frozen’ period. Unless it is an emergency repair, do not push changes without a review from a main system administrator. We would encourage you to bump your ticket or request early in the New Year (full service resumes January 6th) for our attention, otherwise we will work through the backlog of requests. On Wednesday 18 December 2019, the CentOS Board of Directors will hold it's last meeting of the 2019 calendar year. Below is the agenda for that meeting that can be shared with the community and wider public. FYI, the "consent agenda" are items that have been discussed on mailing list or another forum where the Directors have reached consensus. This consent agenda is a way to capture and formalize those decisions, and to give Directors a final chance to bring an item up for discussion in a meeting before the decision is final. ** *Public agenda* *** 1. Looking at if Community Platform Engineering (CPE) can begin to build and release CentOS Linux 8 and CentOS Stream into various public clouds. 2.
