Proposed additions to CentOS 7.3 release notes

LiveGNOME will not boot without uas.ko on newer Seagate SLIM

Hi, I encounted a USB drive which would not boot the Live image due to lack of uas.ko; 1. Hardware: USB 3.0 drive Seagate BUP Slim GD 0BC2:AB24. 2, On an already installed system, this is recognized with uas.ko loaded. 3. Attempting to boot LiveGNOME image from this drive fails as there is no uas.ko in initrd0.img. init reaches the emergency shell trying to locate LiveOS/* as there is no disk found. 4. When I munge uas.ko into the initrd0.img the LiveGNOME image works as expected. Since we may encounter more and more of these in the field can I recommend that uas.ko be included in future Live images. Cheers Anthony

Debuginfo for 7.3 release??

All, Does anyone know when the debuginfo packages will be available? I've been waiting for them so I can build lustre for the newer kernel. Supposedly they are to be pushed with everything: Debuginfo packages are also being signed and pushed. Yum configs shipped in the new release file will have all the context required for debuginfo to be available on every CentOS Linux install. Seems they are still not up: No package kernel-debuginfo-3.10.0-514.2.2.el7.x86_64 available. No package kernel-debuginfo-common-x86_64-3.10.0-514.2.2.el7.x86_64 available. Get rest of DogTag PKI matching RPMs for 10.3.3-14

Hi, Based on upstream we get a subset of DogTag RPMs 10.3.3 (for the use of FreeIPA?). In the C7 builds, is there access to the rest of the matching RPMs? (I..e dogtag-*, pki-ocsp, pki-tks, pki-tps, pki-console) @pki copr seems to move at a different pace: @pki/10.3.3 actually has 10.3.5 and @pki/epel-7.3 has 10.3.3-16. - Anthony

Hi, As default we use CentOS and firefox. Browsing git.centos.org is horrible. On machines I have the browser dies until it loads what I see as not needed content. The site is listing dups of repos with different paths. E.G. https://git.centos.org/summary/!!!!!rpms!git https://git.centos.org/summary/!!!!!rpms!git.git The whole experience is horrid for devs and users. Can we look at it, you are the core SIG. CentOS workflow - git.centos.org - Notifications

Hi all, There seems to be changes being made to repos on git.centos.org without any notification to developers/users. Example: Today 'centos-git-common' has been changed twice. According to: https://wiki.centos.org/Sources patches should be sent to the devel list. We are left in a situation here, if patches or notification of change is not sent to the devel list, developers/users are left to self discipline updating regularly the repos they use or blind luck to know of a change. Can we look at new processes for the notification of change? Security and other updates - too slow

Hi, How is the core SIG looking at improving and speeding up (more than one person) builds of updates? As I see it the longer the time between vendor release and CentOS release people know that we are hittable if they have a viable exploit? I ask this as I see that the core SIG is not concentrating on the job at hand and concentrating on the work of their new masters - Red Hats CentOS? missing rpms in extras

Hi All, I think there are some rpms missing in the 7.3 extras repository. This is not a complete list, but just the items I missed. from the items needed for building 7.3: [DIR] nss_wrapper/ 2016-11-16 12:38 - [DIR] cmocka/ 2016-11-16 12:22 - [DIR] python-hypothesis/ 2016-11-15 13:24 - [DIR] python-cryptography-vectors/ 2016-11-15 13:23 - And some older items: [DIR] python-pretend/ 2015-11-20 01:07 - [DIR] python-iso8601/ 2015-11-20 00:57 - (items are cut-n-paste from buildlogs.centos.org) As far as I can see they are missing both in the normal mirrors as in the vault. Centos on P8 824L OPAL

Hi team: Want to run 7.2 on an IBM 824L bare metal on OPAL firmware. Seems like this should be OK. Any gotchas? Also, will want to run Nvidia CUDA 8 for packages for RHEL. I have a vote that this should be OK. Any other gotchas? Thanks for the sanity check.
