SCL and git 2.X

Hi all, I'm not sure I'm posting to the right place. If it's not I would be pleased if you could point me to the relevant place! TL;DR: I need recent version of git (2.3 ATM) and I need it on centos6 and centos7. For the time being, I managed to rebuild RH git19 scl for centos6 (last time I checked it was not already part of centos SCL but I might be wrong). My question is: is there other persons here interested by a recent, community supported, version of git ? and if yes, how can this be done (a SIG?) ? Hi, I'm a final year undergraduate student at Delhi Technological University,India. My branch is Software Engineering. I have a fair knowledge of Operating Systems theory. I find this area quite interesting and would like to gain practical knowledge in the same. My current experience in this area is limited to building the linux kernel from source and booting it on my laptop. Can you assign me an easy task so I could familiarise myself with the project?? ABRT reporting to CentOS Bug Trucker

Hello, as you might have noticed, ABRT has added support for direct reporting to CentOS Bug Trucker: http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2015-February/012732.html We are keen to include those patches in CentOS-7.1 but the patches need 4 new fields added to /etc/os-release. The first two fields are for CentOS Bug Tracker and the last two fields are for Retrace server: https://fedorahosted.org/abrt/wiki/AbrtRetraceServer Would it be possible to add these fields with their values to /etc/os-release: CENTOS_MANTISBT_PROJECT="CentOS-7" CENTOS_MANTISBT_PROJECT_VERSION="7" REDHAT_SUPPORT_PRODUCT="centos" REDHAT_SUPPORT_PRODUCT_VERSION="7" One may complain that ABRT can guess these values from the already existing fields, but we have been burned by this approach too many times. Some quick notes on Atomic Vagrant builds in the CBS

All, As of about a week ago, we've been able to build Vagrant boxes containing the CentOS Atomic build in the CBS. I've put up an example script in my development fork of the Atomic SIG repo here: https://github.com/imcleod/sig-atomic-buildscripts/tree/devel-cbs-script The "do_vagrant_cbs.sh" script in particular will flatten the atomic/vagrant kickstart files and kick off a scratch build. This assumes you have access to the CBS and have set up a koji profile called "cbs" pointing at the CentOS infra. GSOC 2015- Rootfs build factory implementation

Hi, I am looking forward to paticipate in GSOC 2015 With CentOS community in Rootfs build factory implementation for ARM and other platforms. This is to discuss the idea further in order to build my understanding of the project. ARM is now supported by most of Linux distors. To discuss a few we have Debian, Fedora, Gentoo Linux, Arch Linux etc. Debain has something called debootstrap for creating an architecture specific rootfs. Fedora uses fedora remix for supporting different non-x86 boards(or platforms). >From http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Architectures/ARM/Creating_Remixes what I could find that you can create your own fedora remix by using a tool called appliance-tools over a fedora disk image. Getting started with testing CentOS Atomic Host and the ostree repo

Hi, I've started working on : https://github.com/kbsingh/atomic-ci A set of automation scripts that test if the CentOS Atomic Image is functional, and can be updated using the default CentOS ostree repos. The intention is to make sure we are always shipping content that meets some basic minimal criteria and matches the user experience we document. The test harness is taken from the t_functional suite, so its all very simple bash driven, easily extended in any language. The overall aim for this specific suite is to get the CentOS Atomic host image, sanity check it, get the cloud-init config drive stuff built, get an instance running and then make sure the instance comes up with some baseline functionality. We can then do some atomic updates inside and make sure the image can be 'reverted' etc. I've made a start, all help appreciated. Where are the latest source rpms?

http://vault.centos.org/6.5/os/Source/SPackages/qt-4.6.2-28.el6_5.src.rpm The .src.rpm for qt-4.6.2-26.el6_4 is there, but the above URL doesn't exist (that's the latest release according to yum info), so where can I find the latest source rpm file? Thanks, Dave
