Defining what CentOS is

Hi, We discussed this on #centos after yet another "centos" user had problem using yum. What is missing is a page targetted at integrators/distributors with a list of requirements for using the "CentOS" product name or even saying it is derived, based or build on CentOS. We might be able to kill more than one bird with a single stone, so I am looking for more things we want to prevent distributors/integrators doing without making it impossible for them to use CentOS altogether. My first concern was the support problem, what do we (at minimum) expect to have when users say they have a CentOS. A working yum using the CentOS official repositories, a minimal set of official packages (which ?). using GIT as VCS for packaging rpms

PHP 5.2.6 + Roundcube

I'm not sure whether you are still interested in feedback on php in the testing repo but here goes anyway. I have used the testing repo to upgrade php for use with RoundCube which requires php5.2 or greater and it runs without problem. However during configuration, the programme complained that it couldn't find php-mcrypt (not surprising as it's not in the testing repo). On checking the logs, I see : PHP Warning: PHP Startup: mcrypt: Unable to initialize module Module compiled with module API=20050922, debug=0,thread-safety=0 PHP compiled with module API=20060613, debug=0,thread-safety=0 These options need to match No doubt this is because I had the mcrypt module for php5.1.6 installed. In which case, can I make a request for an updated module? Not high on your priorities I guess. KeithW

phpBB LDAP bind

Good Evening, with a little help from Ralph I have now successfully setup LDAP bind on the phpBB TestVM. The plugin seems to be read-only, so we need to find another way to register user accounts (maybe from CMS). Next step would be a test database import from newbb to make sure that existing posts can me migrated. Chee already provided a script for converting newbb to phpBB2 so maybe I have to migrate to phpBB2 database format first and then upgrade to phpBB3 (unless a SQL guru want's to spend some time on it). I have acquired (salvaged) some SHIVA ISDN-30 LRAS devices which contain a PCI ISDN-30 card. A quick look around did not show this as supported hardware under Linux. But as Shiva was sold to Intel and Intel abolished the whole line some years ago I think that reverse engineering here is the only way. Anyone wiling to sync his/her teeth into this one? I have the firmware for the units including the caode that needs to be send to this card. The card is powered by a 68060 CPU. I will see if I can get some more details though historic contacts if anyone is willing to help out. My programming skills are rusty at best.
