Retiring Feature Request SIG

Hi all, The CentOS Board periodically reviews SIGs to ensure they're active. The Feature Request SIG is no longer active, so we intend to retire this SIG unless somebody from the community wants to revive it. Thanks, Shaun

make dist-all-rpms fails with test_progs-no_alu32-extras Error

Hi * I recently tried to compile a custom centos-stream-9 automotive SIG kernel and failed. Now I see the very same problem is present in the mainline centos-stream-9 kernel. When I clone the sources from https://gitlab.com/redhat/centos-stream/src/kernel/centos-stream-9 on a freshly installed centos-stream-9 host, the make dist-all-rpms target fails with make[3]: rsync: Argument list too long make[3]: *** [Makefile:768: test_progs-no_alu32-extras] Error 127 This is certainly not a problem with rsync and the ulimits are definitely sufficient to deal with this ~2000 char argument list. So what is going on here? This rsync call appears to come from the tools/testing/selftests/bpf/Makefile. The problem persists if I BUILDOPTS="-selftests" and I understand bpf to be a SKIP_TARGET by default, anyway. Does anyone have a hint? What is missing or what am I missing? Proposal: CentOS Stream RISC-V Datacenter SIG

Hello CentOS folks - this is a first email to propose a RISC-V SIG within CentOS, specifically to support a CentOS Stream port for RISC-V. The idea is to show that CentOS Stream can run effectively on many existing RISC-V platforms, as these have already been demonstrated through Fedora. Hi, I see public google cloud centos-stream-9 images [0] are already marked as TDX_CAPABLE. I assume centos-stream-10 images should also carry the TDX_CAPABLE guest OS feature (whenever they're available in gcp), is that correct? Thanks! Kmods SIG Kernel Appreciation

I only recently found out that the Kmods SIG is producing Fedora flavored EL kernels. I installed 6.6 yesterday and it has resolved all my issues with a device I have that wasn't being detected and it also had no issues with the NVIDIA dkms drivers I use. I just wanted to say thank you to the Kmods SIG team and know that the work is appreciated. CentOS should have a blog post on this and be promoting it on twitter as an option for EL users that need a newer kernel (I see ELREPO recommended a lot, but I had many DKMS issues with it). -- Cheers, Alex
