php-mcrypt 5.2.6 test repo

Hello all, I ve been using php 5.2.6 from the testing repo for a month now and everything works fine. The only thing is I cant find php-mcrypt for 5.2.6 from the testing repo. phpmyadmin is saying that is missing but php-mcrypt from the base repo is installed. Thanks, Adam

Questions about the centos rebuild process / s390x related

Hello hackers, i have been asked from some companies, 1. how long it would take to rebuild a centos from scratch if I would have a whole CP (common processor) for it. 2. What the build process includes, meaning "steps to success" 3. whether the licenses force a maintainer to push the resulting distribution upstream. 4. In which cases the maintainer is liable for the resulting distribution rpms, binaries, etc... It would be VERY helpful if I can clarify those questions. sqlite in CentOS4 ... why?

I was recently told that sqlite is now in base in CentOS4, I was wondering why this is since "upstream" doesn't ship it. Starting a s390x rebuild on my own

Good morning hackers, me and others tried to form a special interest group and didn't succeed well. So im starting my own rebuild now. I have access to a z/VM guest and some hercules with 1k mips, too Ill inform you next time the CentOS 5.3 basic package set has been created. Libraries not stripped in rebuilt rpms and larger packages

Hi all I usually rebuild some CentOS rpm packges with some changes I need. I noticed that I obtain slightly larger packages than the ones found in the centOS distribution, even if I rebuild a source rpm without changing anything. I looked in it, and it turned out that my shared libraries are not stripped, where the ones found in your packages are. For example, I just rebuilt the openldap packages, and obtained a package that is about 3 times larger: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 10899106 Jul 7 22:42 my/openldap-servers-2.3.43-3.el5.lux.2.i386.rpm -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3202917 Jul 8 16:38 orig/openldap-servers-2.3.43-3.el5.i386.rpm I extracted the packages with rpm2cpio, and the difference in size are in the shared libraries, for example: # ls -l */usr/lib/libslapd_db-4.4.so -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 6518365 Jul 8 16:42 my/usr/lib/libslapd_db-4.4.so -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1032880 Jan 21 10:00 orig/usr/lib/libslapd_db-4.4.so # file */usr/lib/libslapd_db-4.4.so my/usr/lib/libslapd_db-4.4.so: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), not stripped orig/usr/lib/libslapd_db-4.4.so: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), stripped Maybe the CentOS build system contains some macros that strip libraries, and the distributed macros do not. Hello all, My name is Adam Miller and I'm currently a Fedora Packager/Developer and Ambassador, also a RHEL admin by $dayjob. I've come to a point to where I rely on CentOS for my VPSs hosted via Linode.com and would like to contribute back to CentOS where I am able. Building an automated rpm build system

Hi all, I need to setup a centos 5 x86_64 server to build custom rpms for centos5, rhel5 and oel5. My requeriments are: - Build rpms only from src.rpm packages and .spec files. - Restrict architectures: I only need to build these packages for i386 and x86_64 hosts. - See logs when packages are builded. - Easy to install and lightweight, if it is possible. I have seen mock and koji. Mock it seems ver older but can I use to accomplish these? And koji it seems very complex. Any ideas?? Exists another build system?? I had a look at the testing repo. Is it right there is only a fraction of RHWAS rebuild? Once packages are to stable will they go into plus or will there a rhwas repo?
