phpBB LDAP bind

Good Evening, with a little help from Ralph I have now successfully setup LDAP bind on the phpBB TestVM. The plugin seems to be read-only, so we need to find another way to register user accounts (maybe from CMS). Next step would be a test database import from newbb to make sure that existing posts can me migrated. Chee already provided a script for converting newbb to phpBB2 so maybe I have to migrate to phpBB2 database format first and then upgrade to phpBB3 (unless a SQL guru want's to spend some time on it). I have acquired (salvaged) some SHIVA ISDN-30 LRAS devices which contain a PCI ISDN-30 card. A quick look around did not show this as supported hardware under Linux. But as Shiva was sold to Intel and Intel abolished the whole line some years ago I think that reverse engineering here is the only way. Anyone wiling to sync his/her teeth into this one? I have the firmware for the units including the caode that needs to be send to this card. The card is powered by a 68060 CPU. I will see if I can get some more details though historic contacts if anyone is willing to help out. My programming skills are rusty at best. Centos 5 update breaks drbd

What needs to be done to keep update from breaking kmod packages when the kernel is updated? This happens more often that not, and is a PIA on production boxes. I've added a comment to http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=3186 - there may be others... thx, jerry -- There's plenty of youth in America - it's time we find the "fountain of smart".

Upgrade xarchiver to 0.51?

Hello, I know that CentOS is an Enterprise Distribution and normaly doesn't upgrade packages. But I'd like to ask if there could be an exception to the xarchiver package from CentOS Extras. The reason I ask is that CentOS Extras provides an svn snapshot of 0.49 but currently there is 0.5x released. a post-build test harness

Hi, One of the things that I'd like to get working sometime is a proper post-build test harness for rpm's. At the moment, what we do is quite basic, along with rpmdiff and some comparison tools we do a string of bash-written script tests. There must be another way of doing this, a sort of rpm::unit, for the lack of a better name, but modelled on Rspec. To illustrate : For Pkg in PackageList: { ensure Pkg.SIGGPG => present; }; Makes sure that Packages we are testing are signed, I guess it could also be ensure=> 'blahblah'; to make sure its signed with a specific key. A more complex test might be to make sure that content in multilib pkgs match for overlapping content + multilib acceptable content. An even more complex test might be to make sure any rpm that drops an init script also has a chkconfig stanza in the %post / %pre ( as an example ). The first step would, of course, be to look at doing this per package, and then growing it to work with multiple packages ( eg. doing things like : TestPackage: { ensure latest in -> http://mirror.centos.org/centos/updates/i386/ } ; to make sure that this new package does indeed provide an higher EVR than whatever is in the repo at the end of that url. And having this harness pass or fail depending on the test outcome. Perhaps this is not the right list, but most of the people who would end up using this or having to live with me forcing them to use it are on this list... so I thought this would be a good place to start. debuginfo repo and debuginfo-install

Are there any docs on how to rebuild the CentOS 5 installer? I've been doing this for CentOS 4 based on the script at <http://centos.hughesjr.com/testing/build.sh.txt> - but I now need to do something similar with CentOS 5 ... Thanks James Pearson
