update w.r.t VM's for forums / portals testing

hi Guys, We were hoping to use a series of VM's hosted at flexiscale.com for doing this testing. However, it was just sheer bad luck for us that they decided to do some maintenance work starting the 26th Sept, which are still ongoing. But I am hopeful that they will be done by Monday the 6th. Fallout for us is that while this maint work is going at their end, we cant create any new VM's. This was totally not planned from our side, even the initial announcement that came through only said work would start on the 26th and be done in time for business hours 29th Sept. But it seems that they were unable to finish the work, and its still ongoing. If there is still no progress with the issue on Monday, we can setup a Xen instance and go via that route, at a different setup. -- Karanbir Singh : http://www.karan.org/ : 2522219@icq

xfs volume can not be mounted with uuid or label, only scsi device name /dev/sdb

kernel 2.6.18-92.1.10.el5.centos.plus kmod-xfs-0.4-1.2.6.18_92.1.10.el5.centos.plus xfsdump-2.2.46-1.el5.centos xfsprogs-2.9.4-1.el5.centos the kernel comes back with device not found when i tried label= and uuid=, after changing the fs from ext3 to xfs. with ext3 all 3 works fine, but with xfs only the device name is accepted. any advice is appreciated. cn=John Shen,title=Sys. options on voice conf calls

hi, We had a bit of a struggle with Skype today trying to get a few people talking about some infrastructure issues. And I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on what other options there might be ? Also, some people cant run VoIP / Skype from work so a normal telephone gateway would be nice to have as well. Did I mention people are located all over the world ? If isdn-30 is the same as E1-PRI then there are plenty of cards. That is to build a free repo to support MailScanner. I found there are a number of conflicts between perl updates of Centos and rpmforge that seem to require that a number of packages are build by hand again but in a slightly different manner. For that I need a number of virtual machine to build and test all of this. So I am afraid I will not be able to work on the VOIP box soon. i have determined that all the php-pear and php-pecl subpackages are from the extras repo, so they are not compatible with the rhwas stuff. i'm fine with that, but it would probably be nice if somehow those packages in the extra repo knew they were dependent on the base php and would get removed by yum when upgrading to the rhwas versions.

The first lot of pkgs for webstack on CentOS-5 will start showing up on the testing repo shortly. Its setup to push packages every 12 hrs, so you will see some churn in the repo. please let me know if my emailing about this stuff is getting on your nerves :-). the php rebuild is missing some subpackages: php-mhash php-mssql php-readline php-tidy php-mcrypt and some of the pear and pecl pacakges seem to not be updated either, but i haven't looked at that closely yet. and the mysql in testing isn't the same as upstream. is that something that is going to be addressed?
