Wrong documentation on PackageManagement/Yum/Priorities

Using CentOS 5.1. The page http://wiki.centos.org/PackageManagement/Yum/Priorities states that: "The priorities plugin is available from two locations: ... * The priorities plugin has been added to yum-utils since yum-utils 1.0.1. The version included with yum-utils works with both yum 2.4.x and 3.0.x. Installation instructions are provided in the README file that is included in the plugins/priorities directory of the archive." So I've installed yum-utils instead of yum-priorities and there is no plugin on that package. yum and fastestmirror

Can anyone think of a good reason why we should not make fastestmirror a direct dep for yum ? Its something that is well worth having and in 90%[1] of the cases, it will improve the user experience. - KB [1] Number pulled out of thin air - I have no facts or numbers to back that up.

New QA / Testing potential

Since there are quite a few people offering to help test apps /packages in CentOS - I am wondering if now is a good time to organise the CentOS-Testing repository and process a bit more. There are a *lot* of things that need looking at and pushing into the production repo's however a lack of testing feedback means they dont. Does anyone want to take this up ? 5.2 Dates

ok, so I put some dates up at http://wiki.centos.org/KaranbirSingh/5.2 Essentially, 25th is the last date that I am still looking at backlog and mod's etc. After that its basically just all builders go, get the packages into the -qa target. Once that is done - install media. this plan gives the -qa guys 6 days to look at stuff. Which should be enough ? - KB

Help with 5.2

I am currently using CentOS 5.1 on my dual quad-core E5450 workstation and am willing to test 5.2 on this system. I even have a swappable boot/system drive that I can put it on so I can revert to 5.1 as necessary simply by swapping out the drive. William Boyle Application Frameworks and Systems, Inc.
