Hi all, According to http://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup I launch my request about XEN SIG . I think it would be interesting because XEN related topics in mail-list are usual at present day (especially since CentOS 5 with XEN support was released out). All of us are aware about the future of SO is the virtualization and it means XEN projecte will be more important. I work as a junior sysadmin in little reseller hosting company in Barcelona (Spain). We're planning to build our own datacenter (it will be little, of course) and the services will be based on CentOS+XEN. I use up2date in preference to yum simply because it automates the process of getting matching source. I think I found the answer. The new version of bonding has a bug in it that doesn't restore the original mac addresses on termination and will leave the mac address on the interface it was last on. Hi Daniel, We talk about dkms a couple of days ago. Then I saw this post on the dkms-devel mailing list: http://lists.us.dell.com/pipermail/dkms-devel/2007-May/000562.html I don't pretend to understand the issue discussed in there, but is this something you might need to consider? SRPMS for updates for RHEL5?

I'm just curious. Does anyone know where Red Hat publishes the SRPMS for the updates for RHEL5? I notice that: ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/updates/enterprise/ doesn't have a directory for RHEL5. Just wondering if Red Hat is changing things around or not. Main reason I was interested is that I have a problem with the selinux-policy-targeted RPM which has been fixed in FC6 but I haven't seen any updates for CentOS 5 or as far as I can tell for RHEL 5. auto-fixed-version-deps checking and rebuilding

so before I go reinvent the wheel... does anyone want to recommend a process / toolset that can check for fixed-version deps in a repository and rebuild the failing deps against a new version of the deprecated package ? eg. when a new kernel is built, I want to get a list of all the packages in the repo that depended on the older version of the kernel, and who no longer work with the newer one. If there are hooks in this tool to allow me to plumb in a auto-rebuild-into-a-testing-repo process, that would be star! The most obvious way seems to be checking the entire repo for closure and whatever fails, take some action - but that is not a really good way to check which side is failing. And it also means the new rpms need to be already in a binary format before I can run the test, so thats not going to work. What I was thinking of doing was to import the repo metadata, remove details for the package being superseded, get a before and after picture, then queue in the now-failing packages behind the new package being built.
