Broken gtk+ package

I was just going to enter this in the bugs database, but creation of new accounts is apparently broken. (When I try to set the initial password after following the link in the confirmation email, "This account is protected. You are not allowed to access this until the account protection is lifted.") I have an x86_64 system, on which I must install the gtk+.i386 package. To begin with, only the x86_64 package is installed: # cat /etc/rpm/macros.query_format %_query_all_fmt %%{name}-%%{version}-%%{release}.%%{arch} # rpm -q gtk+ gtk+-1.2.10-33.centos4.x86_64 When I try to install the i386 version, I get this error: With yum: # yum -y install gtk+.i386 [...] Transaction Check Error: package gtk+-1.2.10-33.centos4 (which is newer than gtk+-1.2.10-33) is already installed With straight rpm -i: # rpm -i http://mirror.stanford.edu/yum/pub/centos/4.4/os/x86_64/CentOS/RPMS/gtk+-1.… package gtk+-1.2.10-33.centos4 (which is newer than gtk+-1.2.10-33) is already installed This problem only exists with the CentOS gtk+.x86_64 package, the RedHat one is fine. rpm -i --force works, and that is the workaround I'm using.

I'm talking with Karanbir (one of the lead CentOS developers) to define exactly what that is (what frequency, for how long in the future, etc), and when I have it, I will post it to this list and also on the URL above. KompoZer rpm for CentOS

Hello, I'm trying to compile and create CentOS rpm for KompoZer www.kompozer.net. It is a unofficial bug fix for nvu. Is there a rules to have this package contributed to CentOS? Any tutorials or similar? Should package be build on specific machine? Signet by specific key? Distribution update and centosplus

Hi, number of RPMs in CentosPlus 4.4 is increasing slowly, but is increasing. Although it is mentioned in CentosPlus readme.txt: exclusions, release within a few days, etc. I think that Centos update should have to be released together with CentosPlus. Update would be much more simpler, easier, and transparent. David Hrbáč

CentOS-4.4 yumconf

The files /etc/yum.repos.d/* have moved from yumconf into centos-release. I don't know if this is planned but the net result is it broke my yum config (again) and unless there is a good reason I don't know of, it seems broken. I have a site specific /etc/yum.conf and I don't want any files in /etc/yum.repos.d/ I have a custom yumconf packages which prevents the centos version from installing the files in /etc/yum.repos.d/ but that is no longer effective. DAR - Disk ARchive packaged for CentOS?

Hi folks, I was searching for a backup tool simple and easy to use from command line to backup on DVD certain disks, even the whole OS. I was using mondoarchive almost succesfully but recently found what i think i was needing, it's called DAR (http://dar.linux.free.fr/) - i think im not the first that uses it - anyway, after searching for it already packaged for CentOS/RHEL/Fedora, i didn't find it. It's already packaged for debian, madrake, openSuSe, etc.. but i think there's not a pkg for RHEL systems. If somebody knows where i can find it i would appreciate it, or even if it's possible to include it in CentosPlus repo, TIA Jose.

Potfix centosplus

Hi, why postfix.i386 2:2.2.10-1.RHEL4.2.mysql_pgsql.c4, a new version from CentosPlus has dependency postgresql 7.4.13-2.RHEL4.1? I guess postgresql-libs is enough. Thanks, David Hrbáč

rpm-4.3.3-18: rpm --root failure(s)

See also: http://bugzilla.redhat.com/151255#c3 Just upgraded a box to centos-4.4, and no I can no longer use 'rpm --root' (with mock). Ideas? Suggestions? Confirm? (For now, I'll have to rollback to rpm-4.3.3-13 on my mock buildhosts) -- Rex
