The Call for Presentations for the October CentOS Dojo closes next weekend - September 6th, 00:01 UTC. FYI: As it currently stands, we have enough content for just one day, and so will probably cancel day two of the event. Unless ... more of you are interested in presenting on your work in and around CentOS. We want to hear from the SIGs about what they're working on. We want to hear from CPE and the CentOS Stream crew about what's coming in the months and years ahead. So, don't wait. Get your talk proposals in soon! --Rich

freetype package missed in repo

I wonder why this package not available anymore? # LANG=C yum reinstall freetype Last metadata expiration check: 1:04:59 ago on Wed Aug 4 00:38:21 2021. Installed package freetype-2.9.1-5.el8.x86_64 (from baseos) not available. Error: No packages marked for reinstall. Any clues? -- Thx Leon

In our ongoing effort to make CentOS governance more open and transparent, we would like to invite all of you to an open Q&A, "town hall" style meeting with some members of the CentOS Board of directors, as a followup to our recent board of directors meeting. [infra] : Planned outage : CI environment

Due to a previous hardware issue (https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/ci-users/2020-October/002124.html) we had a workaround in place that is still in place but is actually blocking a reorg of the infra used behind ci.centos.org. We are announcing a maintenance window that will permit us to move network switches, and reconfigure the network properly , allowing also us to redeploy/load balance our workload across remaining available infrastructure. Migration is scheduled for """"Tuesday August 17th, 1:00 pm UTC time"""". You can convert to local time with $(date -d '2021-08-17 13:00 UTC') The expected "downtime" is estimated to ~60 minutes , time needed to migrate services, reconfigure network switch and restart the nodes connected to new network switch. oath-toolkit in c9s-pending

Is there some way I can find out more about why people untag builds from c9s-pending? For example, today jantill untagged oath-toolkit-2.6.6-2.el9 from c9s-pending, but "pskctool" and "oathtool" are still present in https://gitlab.com/redhat/centos-stream/release-engineering/pungi-centos/-/… The reason I care about oath-toolkit is that Ceph requires liboath-devel, and now I'm not sure what version is going to ship in CentOS 9 Stream. - Ken

Hi all, Here is a quick snapshot of some of the work delivered by the Community Platform Engineering team during the month of July. Datanomer reads-in messages from the bus and stores them in the database and Datagrepper exposes the messages in the database via an API with different filtering capacities. We want to upgrade these applications to use fedora-messaging and increase the performance of the applications for users. Work Tracker: https://github.com/orgs/fedora-infra/projects/10 **Delivered in July** * Converted datanomer.consumer to use fedora-messaging * Timescaledb is deployed in staging * Vagrant setup created to help new contributors hack on datagrepper easier #### Metrics for Apps on Openshift **About** The project team will deliver on the installation of newest Openshift in Fedora infra to be then configured with prometheus so applications can be hooked into this service and can be monitored and metricized through this tech stack for more comprehensive understanding of app behaviour, performance and troubleshooting. There are multiple scripts running from a server which parses the data into a csv file for graphing and displaying trends that had been misbehaving a lot. This program gives a good indication for how many computers use fedora so the project team will work on improving these scripts and the program overall to make it a more reliable and maintainable solution. python3-virtualenv missing from CentOS Stream 9

python3-virtualenv is not in the CentOS Stream 9 composes. It's surprising to me because https://kojihub.stream.centos.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=6539 has a recent changelog entry "Rebuilt for RHEL 9 BETA on Apr 15th 2021. Related: rhbz#1947937". Can we add this to CentOS Stream 9 comps?

CS9 buildroots in CBS for SIGs

Hi, With regards to the update about the plans for CentOS Stream 9 in [1], when should SIGs expect availability of CS9 buildroots in CBS and be able to create c9 branches in git.centos.org?, once we have signed packages or after getting them published in mirrors?
