oath-toolkit in c9s-pending

Is there some way I can find out more about why people untag builds from c9s-pending? For example, today jantill untagged oath-toolkit-2.6.6-2.el9 from c9s-pending, but "pskctool" and "oathtool" are still present in https://gitlab.com/redhat/centos-stream/release-engineering/pungi-centos/-/… The reason I care about oath-toolkit is that Ceph requires liboath-devel, and now I'm not sure what version is going to ship in CentOS 9 Stream. - Ken

Community Platform Engineering Team July Report

Hi all, Here is a quick snapshot of some of the work delivered by the Community Platform Engineering team during the month of July. Datanomer reads-in messages from the bus and stores them in the database and Datagrepper exposes the messages in the database via an API with different filtering capacities. We want to upgrade these applications to use fedora-messaging and increase the performance of the applications for users. Work Tracker: https://github.com/orgs/fedora-infra/projects/10 **Delivered in July** * Converted datanomer.consumer to use fedora-messaging * Timescaledb is deployed in staging * Vagrant setup created to help new contributors hack on datagrepper easier #### Metrics for Apps on Openshift **About** The project team will deliver on the installation of newest Openshift in Fedora infra to be then configured with prometheus so applications can be hooked into this service and can be monitored and metricized through this tech stack for more comprehensive understanding of app behaviour, performance and troubleshooting. There are multiple scripts running from a server which parses the data into a csv file for graphing and displaying trends that had been misbehaving a lot. This program gives a good indication for how many computers use fedora so the project team will work on improving these scripts and the program overall to make it a more reliable and maintainable solution. python3-virtualenv missing from CentOS Stream 9

python3-virtualenv is not in the CentOS Stream 9 composes. It's surprising to me because https://kojihub.stream.centos.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=6539 has a recent changelog entry "Rebuilt for RHEL 9 BETA on Apr 15th 2021. Related: rhbz#1947937". Can we add this to CentOS Stream 9 comps?

CS9 buildroots in CBS for SIGs

Hi, With regards to the update about the plans for CentOS Stream 9 in [1], when should SIGs expect availability of CS9 buildroots in CBS and be able to create c9 branches in git.centos.org?, once we have signed packages or after getting them published in mirrors? subversion / CS8 update / status of workflow

Hi, inspired by a different thread here, I did a dnf distro-sync on a CS8 node and noticed that subversion would be downgraded: from subversion-1.10.2-4.module_el8.3.0+703+ba2f61b7 to subversion-1.10.2-3.module_el8.3.0+393+21cd8ae8 Coming from C8 and swapping the repos to CS8 leads to this situation (especially when doing upgrade instead of distro-sync) but that is not my point. The above downgrade path recovered that subversion in CS8 still does not have # rpm -q --changelog subversion-1.10.2-4.module_el8.3.0+703+ba2f61b7.x86_64 | head -3 * Mi Feb 10 2021 Joe Orton <jorton(a)redhat.com> - 1.10.2-4 - add security fix for CVE-2020-17525 Such question comes here and there again and again. How does the package update process in CS8 looks like? Is the process mature, any glitches. This subversion update already exists in C8 since February. Why is it not incorporated into CS8? Would CentOS Stream only be promoted as "upstream" development platform, then ... but its also promoted as successor of CentOS Linux for people with production fleeds. I do not argue that C8S should be like C8 (in a wider sense) but at least it should have some basal property (like updates are at most after 1 or 2 month all there or so ...). Any insight about the goal of the current process? Any wiki or doc page for that? Some transparency would be my main goal, to have base for decisions ... I'd really appreciate any feedback. glibc with clone3 in the CentOS 9 buildroot

We have merged a toolchain update which brings in a glibc build very close to glibc 2.34 upstream release. This build starts using clone3 for creating threads. This may require browser and container tools updates which adjust seccomp filters. clone3 kernel support is NOT required, but a proper “system call not supported” error (ENOSYS, like older kernels report without seccomp filters) or a working clone3 system call is now necessary. If you think your SIG would benefit from this, would you mind chiming in and registering your interest? python3-pyOpenSSL missing from CentOS Stream 9

Hi, There was a package mentioned recently that is not in the composes for cs9 https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2021-July/077184.html I have another example, python3-pyOpenSSL https://kojihub.stream.centos.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=6236 This package was built for cs9, but it is not in the composes. I noticed it because python3-pyOpenSSL is a requirement for some ansible modules, for example https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/2.7/modules/openssl_certificate_module.html https://docs.centos.org/en-US/stream-contrib/quickstart/#_whats_going_on_wi… has some information about koji tags, but to me it is not clear to what it means if specific koji tags are missing, but it seems to me that it should have c9s-gate and possibly other tags too to land in the composes. My question is: why is this? best regards, markus
