Introductions, and interest in package building (OVS, OVS+DPDK)

Hey folks, Quick intro here. Name is Leif Madsen, and I work at Red Hat on a team doing NFV, and I'm team lead on the DevOps/CI side of things for that team. I've recently been playing around with building Open vSwitch via copr and building out a small script to trigger periodic rebuilds of ovs-master. I recently submitted my first patch to OVS to convert from building with rpmbuild directly to allowing things to build via mock. I'm interested in the work being done around getting OVS and OVS+DPDK built for CentOS. I recently applied for the Cloud-SIG group (as suggested by Jim Perrin). I've also been tracking RDO and am interested in contributing there where I can. At this point, while I'm familiar with package building, and using mock (and recently some other tools like copr), I'd like some guidance around package workflow within CentOS, RDO, Fedora, etc so that I can better understand, and ideally contribute going forward. Any pointers to documentation or other information that you think would be relevant and useful would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Vagrant Boxes with libvirt on CentOS-7

I was setting up vagrant for the first time ever, just to figure out how it works and test some new CentOS-6 images we have created. This was my first time ever trying it and I went to: https://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup/SCLo/Vagrant The instructions say: yum install sclo-vagrant1 And you can then you can 'scl enable sclo-vagrant1 bash' .. however I did not get enough stuff installed to 'vagrant up' or 'vagrant init'. In order to be able to do anything, I have to at least install the following extra packages: yum install sclo-vagrant1 sclo-vagrant1-vagrant sclo-vagrant1-vagrant-libvirt With those (and all the deps) installed, then I could do something like add a new box and 'vagrant init' it and then 'vagrant up' it, then 'vagrant ssh' We seem to have no docs in CentOS space on how to do any of this. I did find this article, and using it and my understanding of SCLs, I was able to make it work: https://fedoramagazine.org/using-fedora-22-atomic-vagrant-boxes/ So, am i missing something whereby only installing 'sclo-vagrant1' makes this work? docker and docker-latest packages on CentOS Virt SIG

**CentOS Virt SIG** What: - 'docker' (v1.9) http://cbs.centos.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=10878 - 'docker-latest' (v1.10) http://cbs.centos.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=10881 - both can be installed simultaneously and don't step on each other's toes, but only one can run at a time. - /usr/bin/docker is a script which execs /usr/bin/docker-current (v1.9) or /usr/bin/docker-latest (v1.10) based on what $DOCKERBINARY is set to. new centos7 vagrant boxes 'released' (?)

I see there are new centos7 vagrant boxes dated 6/8 in http://cloud.centos.org/centos/7/vagrant/x86_64/images but they do not appear on the vagrant site at https://atlas.hashicorp.com/centos/boxes/7 yet. Are there issues with the centos.org 1605_01 boxes, or alternately is there an expected date that the hashicorp site will catch up so 'vagrant box update' would get the new box ? Also, any plans/dates/guesses for the centos6 boxes being made available ? I've kind of lost track of that plan in the other mailing list threads... Hi, I'm working on a "devel/continuous" Atomic Host stream[1] and we were pulling in `centos-release` via deps which I think is wrong. Also, I needed to fix a bug[2]. Can we migrate: https://github.com/cgwalters/centos-release-atomic-host-devel into the CentOS namespace? I don't mind carrying it in projectatomic/ though either, but it feels more at home in CentOS. Atomic Developer Bundle v2.2.0 released

We have released the Atomic Developer Bundle 2..2.0 through CentOS Atomic SIG. The ADB release also includes release of following ecosystem projects: * adb-utils : version 1.7- A set of utility scripts and configuration files for ADB. * vagrant-service-manager: version 1.1.0 - Vagrant plugin designed to enable easier access to the features and services provided by the ADB ADB 2.2.0 release adds several bugfixesand enhancemnets , including: * The Vagrant box size has been reduced significantly. The size of the box is almost 150MB less than ADB 2.0.0. * ADB is now using OpenShift Origin 1.2.0 as default. However user can change it to latest in the Vagrantfile [5] to use latest OpenShift Origin. This release also includes many changes and bugfixes, which are detailed in the release changelog of adb-utils [1], vagrant-service-manager [3] [6] andADB [2]. Please update the ADB Vagrant box [4] and the vagrant-service-manager ($ vagrant plugin update vagrant-service-manager) and give the new ADB version a spin. Adding new Imagefactory features to CBS

Hi, The current version of Imagefactory [1] running with CentOS build system (CBS) is few versions behind upstream releases of Imagefactory [1] . Imagefactory recently added a new feature to build HyperV variant of Vagrant image and also has capability to build Vagrant box for VMware Fusion. I am confident that bringing these features to CBS will help the community in general. In case you are not aware about Imagefactory [1] , CBS uses it to do Vagrant box builds for CentOS and other projects e.g. Atomic Developer Bundle (ADB) in Atomic SIG. I am wondering how we can facilitate a process to bring upstream features of Imagefactory to CBS. One suggestion from Ian was that we should create a cbs-test setup similar to production CBS setup and use it to build confidence around the new features of Imagefactory and then move the feature to production.
