Mailserver move

Hi subscribers, the sponsor of the machine our mailserver runs on will be physically moving the machine at around May 27th 04:00 UTC. This move will take until around May 27th 07:00 UTC (or shorter). This means that there will be no activity on the mailing lists during that time. We all hope that the machine will come up without problems again after the move. How to handle kABI when patching kernel

Hi, I've generated (via rpmbuild) a patched version of the latest CentoS 6.2 kernel (2.6.32-220.7.1) with the imq patchset ( http://www.linuximq.net/patches.html) but this causes the kABI to break. What can orshould I do about this, if anything? What kinds of changes cause the kABI to break? Would it be reasonable to think I might be able to fix the patch to be kABI compliant? Is the kABI for CentOS the same as the one for the upstream RHEL version? Should I try to patch the kABI (as Oracle does in their unbreakable linux kernel)? What would be the procedure foir this? I understand you can't help me with the patches or the kernel itself, but I was hoping you might help me understand the kABI well enough that I can handle things for there. Source RPMs on vault

Hi, I noticed that there are source RPMs missing from the vault for both C5 and C6: * http://vault.centos.org/5.8/updates/SRPMS/ (last updated April 3), and * http://vault.centos.org/6.2/updates/Source/SPackages/ (last updated April 9) Did something break in the automated build process? Chris

Hi, I'm interested how Centos Team changes and compiles SRPMs from Red Hat? Do you have a public manual which describes the process of compilation and building Centos? I suppose that this information is not private. Can you give me a more information about that? Best wishes Peter

source rpms for z-stream

Hello, anyone knows if Red Hat is pushing out source rpms for 4.y.z releases only or if the same will be done for RHEL5 and RHEL6 as well? Having all source rpms released would be a good step for CentOS and co, but maybe this is only done for the the discontinued RHEL4? How get a spec file with all macros expanded

Hi, I'm building some packages using CentOS 6, and i have a question that i can't get answer for, i think that is a common task in rpm build that will get some info that will help in automate some process. I need to get a spec file with all macro exanded, so i can extract info of buildrequires, etc.. Regards.
