RedHat potential kernel bug 1904817

I reported a potential kernel bug in the USB subsystem of CentOS 7.9 a couple of days ago, bug 1904817, but accidentally locked myself out of viewing the bug report a few minutes ago... Could someone who has the ear of whoever is running the RedHat Bugzilla system change it back so that I, the reporter, am able to view the report again? Further, I saw that this bug was locked and not accessible to anyone besides the reporter and the cc-list. Not clear why this would be?? Again, I am the reporter. Thank you in advance.

It seems another Fork will come up... or we switch to openSUSE (at least they haven't mentioned it will become a testing ground for their clients). Folks, What is going on here https://blog.centos.org/2020/12/future-is-centos-stream/ CentOS 8's future is not looking bright. Recently deployed CentOS8 on my production workload and now hearing this. What do other folks think about this?

CentOS 8 (2011) Missing packages

Hi, Thanks for releasing CentOS 8 (2011)! I just tried to update on a test system and noticed two missing/outdated packages: - gcc-toolset-10 is missing. According to the RHEL 8.3 release notes this should be included. According to koji it has already been built. Is it on its way to the mirrors? - libuv-devel in the "devel" repo is outdated. Maybe other packages there are outdated as well, haven't checked yet. Thanks, Peter

I just wonder about # dnf download --source pkgname.rpm Right now its downloading old srpms. # dnf download --source mesa ... mesa-18.3.1-5.el8_0.src.rpm but "installed" are packages based on # rpm -qa --qf '%{SOURCERPM}\n'|grep mesa |head -1 mesa-19.3.4-2.el8.src.rpm Is this dnf feature broken? -- Thanks, Leon

Building ARM64 RPMs on AMD64?

Hi, We are thinking about adding ARM64 based devices to our systems. As we are using CentOS almost everywhere and have quite a number of inhouse RPM packages in our company repository, we'd like to enhance it and add ARM64 alias aarch64 to it. What I'm still wondering is how to run the build environment for the new arch? How does the CentOS project do it, run ARM64 hardware or using emulation? Or to ask differently, is it an option to run the build system emulated with QEMU? Thanks for any insights? Simon

Reminder: CentOS 6 EOL on 30 November 2020

All, This is a friendly reminder. CentOS 6.10 will EOL at the end of November 2020. During the first week in December 2020, the 6.10 directory will move to vault.centos.org Packages will still be available at: http://vault.centos.org/centos/6.10/ However, once moved, there will be no more updates pushed to vault.centos.org. Therefore, security issues will no longer be fixed, etc. You should take the rest of the month to either move to a newer versoin of CentOS Linux ... or to procure Extended el6 support from Red Hat (EUS RHEL 6).
