To lay things out a bit:
- The packages need to be built.
Everyone assumes this is fairly straightforward but there are occasionally roadblocks. One example would be m2crypto (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1287164) where the tests fail because of an expired cert. We bump into these, figure out how best to deal with them, and move on.
worth noting: WITHOUT any insider info about how are the original packages built
