that would be a good thing to get in - i think the config files should survive a rpm update for site customisations.
I spoke with Jim about this on IRC and he and I are in agreement that it's best to sort it out within EPEL instead of having CentOS make any changes to the package.
I just submitted an epel-release update. Testing and karma welcome.
