or we find a way to have repos contain content that overwrites others, and use namespace overload or something other mechanism to allow it at any tier.
Sigh... did the RPM developers forget that there was always a good reason that PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH (a) hold multiple values _and_ (b) are set per-process not as globals for the machine?
