There may well be no malicious intent on either side but with all the noise and FUD surrounding the current el7 source issues in multiple venues and the fact that people are _still_ leery about the Red Hat / CentOS relationship and, sorry to say, but in some circles people are still not past the release fiasco that was C6, it all adds up to distrust. _Any_ change is likely to not be welcomed at this point without a lot of explanation on the part of you and the rest of the CentOS core team. I would suggest something on the web site or wiki explaining why this fundamental change in product description is necessary.
