Working together is a *great* idea, but specifically in the context of third-party repositories, I'd personally see it more as a manpower issue (and mostly on their/our side).
Regarding the past tensions, I'm really hopeful that in view of the recent exciting news, the most prominent sources thereof will become something of the past.
