I thought the base and updates repos were supposed to track upstream. But thunderbird-31.2.0 is in the centos 5 updates repo, while RHEL5.11 just has thunderbird-24.8.0.
https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2014-1647.html seems to suggest there's thunderbird-31.2.0-2 in RHEL 5.x as well
It's linked off the Client errata page not the server one.
They (RHEL) do that frequently, but I am pretty sure they don't have different versions in different parts of their tree. I guess anything is possible.
But as is already posted, they upgraded to the new version and released an errata.
Orion, Are you sure you updated your RHEL-5.11 to the latest version?
So my problem was that I was looking at 5Server (and I have a RHEL 5.11 server install) and only thunbird 24.8.0 is there. Now in hindsight it makes sense to look for TB in Workstation rather than Server, but I wonder why the disparity. But that's a RHEL issue, not CentOS. Sorry for the noise.
