Thanks Akami and Ned. It seems coretemp doesn't read the ICH temperature. Anyone know whether I'll need a more recent version, another module, or it's just not yet implemented?

That's correct - coretemp directly reads register values from Intel Core series processors. It has no knowledge of the I/O Controller Hub (ICH).
