At the conference, upstream maintainer explained that they were not confident that the --user option is stable enough to be integrated in RHEL. I understood that they feel that the feature will change a lot in the future and they did not want to deal with all of those changes in RHEL.
Thanks for the pointer. I just saw that Lukáš Nykrýn replied to the ticked I previously mentioned [1] reaffirming what you said.
So, my question now is what would be an alternative to systemd user instance (i.e. a mechanism for users to configure, manage and control their services) on CentOS 7?
