Hello guys, I've recently installed XFCE after moving from Fedora to centos but currently I'm missing xscreensaver and orage packages for XFCE. Is there a chance to get them into centos repos??

IMHO the xscreensaver package(s) should be provided for security reasons because without this package(s) it's impossible to lock down a workstation which uses XFCE as Desktop. After some period of time the screen will be set to blank but anyone can restore the desktop without knowing the password the users set for the workstation.

The xscreensaver source rpm rebuilds fine within mock (after a few changes in the spec file). So yes, it should be doable to put this into centos-extras.

Is there a place where the rpm(s) can be grabbed and tested?

At the moment they are available on my workstation only, sorry :)
I have no working plague at the moment to access the build system.
Cheers,
Ralph

Hello, I just wanted to know what's the progress with the xscreensaver packages.
The progress is that I am lazy :D
Tell me all the items you want in there for XFCE and I will get them built now (and their dependencies).
Thanks, Johnny Hughes

I'm missing mostly xscreensaver. Additionally I miss orage, xarchiver, the thunar-plugins.
For xarchiver and orage you could grab my srpms from http://download.ha-software.de/srpms/
But I still got a small problem with orage: The icon for orage is missing in xfce settings and xfce-setting-show orage raised "No such plugin: orage" error message.
Maybe you can solve this problem.

I am not going to build thunar-media-tags-plugin-0.1.2-2.fc6.src.rpm as the dependency chain includes mono and lua (just to mention a few). Hopefully we can live without that package.
Thanks, Johnny Hughes

Yes I can. The media-tags-plugin isn't important to me ;-) Thanks for your help.
