Hello all, I was recently in #docker-dev on freenode and it was brought up that they are currently in search of a maintainer for the official CentOS docker image for the docker index[0]. I would be happy to do this but I also know that there is a core team and a Cloud SIG already in place and wanted to bring this up to the group so I'm not stepping on anyones toes *and* so that I'm not slinging around an image called "official" without blessing from the project and community at large.
I'm aware of the docker scripts[1] from the Cloud SIG and would effectively just like to find a way to have us collaborate on this (I would like to join which ever group ends up being the owner of this task) and then farm builds somewhere that can be uploaded by whom ever has the appropriate permissions to the docker index.
Looking forward to thoughts from the group.
Thanks, -AdamM

This is certainly something we want to pull back inside the CentOS project,. Currently Chris StPierre has been working on this with us. Who in #docker-dev do we need to work with to take over the official centos image at a project level?

I would rather have this as a SIG responsibility rather than at an individual level simply from a coverage standpoint. People get busy, bored, leave, etc. If the SIG owns it, they can transfer responsibility as needed. Having said that, if you and Chris want to 'own' this within the SIG structure, I have no problems with that.
Looking forward to thoughts from the group.

I mostly meant "own" such as "taking responsibility for getting the action item done" more so than anything else. Sorry if I worded it badly, this should of course be a community owned item just as anything else.

http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2014-April/010070.html and http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2014-April/010077.html might be useful here, the git repo you linked to is where the kickstarts are coming together.
test please :)
also, the selinux thing is a bit of a pain, any help in getting that sorted out would be great.
I feel the best place to be is to get a baseline, trim and slim image that we can push into the official docker centos image, as stable for 5 and for 6 - then we can also do different ones (as needed) to the /centos/ path ( which i believe jim and chris have already setup ).
Thanks
