Added the images to the public test account on Brightbox Cloud. Images ids as below.
Both images fire up on Brightbox fine, expand the disk and pick up IPv6 and IPv4 addresses as expected.
dhclient.conf is reporting an error.
Sep 17 06:14:44 localhost.localdomain dhclient[583]: /etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf line 3: semicolon expected. Sep 17 06:14:44 localhost.localdomain dhclient[583]: retry Sep 17 06:14:44 localhost.localdomain dhclient[583]: ^
static hostname is getting set incorrectly, so that on a reboot the hostname becomes ‘hostname.localdomain’. This may be a cloud-init problem interacting with centos 7 and the systemd hostname facility.
On initial boot cloud-init overrides the systemd choice, so this problem may not show up until a kernel upgrade forces a reboot.
Looking good though.

investigating, this is likely the timeout 300 setup I've added in.

we should have this fixed with the patch that checks for machine type, but will re-investigate.
fwiw, the GA image failed to boot in 25% of the ec2 tests! the updated one seems to be fine there.
Looking good though.

Hi,
Works fine on an internal RedHat OpenStack5 (IceHouse) / RedHat EL7 with KVM/QEMU for hypervisor Provider network NFS backend for Glance
I was able to - create the image with Glance - Launch a new instance with ssh keys provisionned - ssh into the instance
I did not notice any visible issue and /var/log/messages looks clean.
Spawing the instance is rather fast.

yeah, it caught me out by surprise as well. on my t430s laptop, it boots up faster than i can get the virt-manager window up; I'd estimate about 4 seconds ?
For now I have been using a testing environment with limited infrastructure ressources.
It took 25 sec. to reach 'running' state (on dashboard) and 1min10s to be able to perform the first ssh login
I will try later on a platform with more physical ressources (+ CopyOnWrite on storage which should make a big difference)

I then could successfully create instances using the smallest flavor (1.cw.tiny | 629MB RAM | 20GB Disk)
SSH Login with provisionned keys ok. DHCP ok

Hi !
Any reason not use lvm with this image ? It would make disk resizing easier. I actually don't find a way to increase the disk size for the / fs. qemu-resize increase the qcow2 file size but I can't take it into account on the virtual machine.
Thanks Paul

I don't understand. The CentOS 7 image resizes itself just fine on first boot, courtesy of cloud-init. Can you elaborate why this is not working for you?
