It seems another Fork will come up... or we switch to openSUSE (at least they haven't mentioned it will become a testing ground for their clients).

Folks,

CentOS 8's future is not looking bright. Recently deployed CentOS8 on my production workload and now hearing this. What do other folks think about this?
Speaking only for myself, I am ready to give up on CentOS (and Red Hat) entirely. Fedora meets all my clients' needs with none of the chaos.
I shall miss the stability of past CentOS releases, much as I did those of Scientific Linux.

Already done. I'm really interested how the Scientific Linux Users' will react to this one. They gave up their distro , to make CentOS stronger ... just to get this. I can't believe that IBM are not involved.

I've been one, and still active on the mailing lists. I'm not happy about it. I'm very leery that the "stream" CentOS will be even more destabilizing, and yet hindered by brought compatibility with major releases of current components of RHEL releases which they will be prohibited from replacing. The already obsolete python 3.6 is a prize example.
