Here are the first two rounds of CentOS 7 ppc64le rpms, build logs, and mock configs:
Round A: http://ppcbootstrap.lon1.centos.org/C7a/ppc64le/
* Built atop Fedora 21 ppc64le VMs * Built from http://vault.centos.org/7.1.1503/os/Source/SPackages/ and c7-ppc64le branch on git.centos.org * Source rpms were temporarily modified to remove circular dependencies during the bootstrap process
Round B: http://ppcbootstrap.lon1.centos.org/C7b/ppc64le/
* Built atop Centos 7 ppc64le VMs * Built from http://vault.centos.org/7.1.1503/os/Source/SPackages/ , http://vault.centos.org/7.1.1503/updates/Source/SPackages/ , and c7-ppc64le branch on git.centos.org * noarch rpms were skipped as those will be taken from c7-x86_64 * Only gcc.spec (%global build_ada 0), curl.spec (upstream testcase fix), ghostscript.spec (upstream segfault fix) and nss.spec (upstream fix for expired PayPal cert) were modified. I will provide further details on these alterations on the altarch ppc64le wiki page once that gets created.
Feedback is most welcome. You may find jpoc on the #centos-devel and #centos-ppc irc channels. Once the AltArch SIG is officially approved, we will share installable alpha/beta images and rpm repositories.
Thanks -James
Hi James,
That is great news!
What stands between the progress made so far, and the approval of the AltArch SIG? (If that's a rookie question answerable via FAQ page, please feel free to redirect me).
Thanks!

I will defer to KB on that one. I know some meetings need to happen and approval by CentOS Board. You should be able to kick the tires with ppc64le rpms (gcc compiler, kernel, grub2) if you wish though.

Hi James How's the AltArch SIG approval status? Or in other word, when could the iso image be available?
Thanks
Regards, Liang.

Hi James I found the ISO is posted in the wiki, thanks for all the effort. https://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup/AltArch/ppc64le
but seems the ftp link to download the ISO seems not valid, http://mirror.centos.org/altarch/7/isos/ppc64le/
Would you or someone else help to have a check?
thakns.

AFAIK, that page is in "preparation" mode, but nothing has been released to mirrors, so that link is where it will appear once released, not before

Yes, apologies for the radio silence. I’ll update the ppc64le wiki link to say “coming soon”.
We did GPG sign and verify a small set of ppc64le rpms last Friday.
I now have 7.2.1511 ppc64le repos and images ready for signing and publishing. Hopefully we’ll get to that late this week or early next week.
[root@localhost ~]# cat /etc/centos-release CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (AltArch) [root@localhost ~]# cat /proc/version Linux version 3.10.0-327.el7.ppc64le (mockbuild@p8levm3.lon1.centos.org) (gcc version 4.8.5 20150623 (Red Hat 4.8.5-4) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Sat Nov 21 17:39:19 GMT 2015 [root@localhost ~]# ls /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/ RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-7 RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-SIG-AltArch-7-ppc64le
Thank you so much James and everyone.
I was sure that CentOS for ppc64le ISO image file has been uploaded at the following sites. http://mirror.centos.org/altarch/7/isos/ppc64le/ I try to introduce it onto my OpenPower servers.
