Hello,
Firstly, allow me to congratulate you all on the release of 5.0!
About a year ago I requested the CentOS team consent to adding the CentOS logo to Wikipedia's CentOS article.
Images can be posted and still retain the trademark. For some examples of the different types of logos and their license templages, you can see the following pages:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Glogo-small.png - Gentoo logo, copyrighted, used under fair use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Ubuntu_Logo.svg - Ubuntu logo, copyrighted, used under fair use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Debian-logo.svg - Debian logo, copyrighted, used under the "Debian Open Use Logo License" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Wilber-huge-alpha.png - GIMP logo, used under the GPL license
Essentially, Wikipedia can have logos that are under a variety of licenses. If you give your approval, I'll post a copy of the logo under the license of your choice.

Hello,
Logos can be posted to Wikipedia that fall under either Fair Use (copyrighted), GFDL, Creative Commons, or Public Domain. I assume that CentOS will allow the use of their logo under the Copyright/Fair Use provision.
There are many images that are posted to Wikipedia that are copyrighted and used under terms of the Fair Use provision. Some of the logos have a generic tag that explains that the image is copyrighted and used under Fair Use. Some examples of these are the Ubuntu logo ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:UbuntuLogo.svg), the Slackware logo ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Slackware.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Slackware.jpg), the Mandriva logo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Mandriva_logo.png), the SUSE logo ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:SuSE-logo.png), and the GIMP logo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:GIMPLogo.png).
Other images have tags that give specific rationale for their use. For example, the Debian logo ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Debian_Open_Logo.png http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Debian_Open_Logo.png) contains a specific statement that describes the rationale for Fair Use:
Debian Open Use Logo License Copyright (c) 1999 Software in the Public Interest This logo or a modified version may be used by anyone to refer to the Debian project, but does not indicate endorsement by the project. Note: we would appreciate that you make the image a link to http://www.debian.org/ if you use it on a web page.
CentOS should feel free to include any stipulations for use of their logo as well.
* A brief explanation of Wikipedia's Fair Use policy is listed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Copyrights#Fair_use_materials_and_special_requirements * For more information on copyrights related to logos, please see the Wikipedia policy located at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Logos. * For Wikipedia's general copyright page, please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Copyrights .
Thank you very much for your time!

I am trying to work at this end, on the logo issue - its not a decision for me to make, i am a tech guy. Someone else makes these sort of decisions. Will get back to you with whatever i can dig up - or get someone to get back to you.
