Could you apply the attached patch (per Matt Hyclak) to yum-utils for CentOS 4? This is necessary to have reposync and a couple of other utilities working well with yum 2.4 + yum-metadata-parser.

These are very useful changes. I guess it's best to let them cook in upstream CVS for a bit more.
