Since CentOS Stream 9, the RHEL and CentOS Stream images have differed a little bit, because they have used different image building systems. RHEL uses Image Builder, while CentOS Stream used ImageFactory.
CentOS Stream is finally able to use Image Builder, and we are getting ready to transition to the new images. Before we completely change over, we would like the community to look at the new images, test them, and give us feedback.
Download Images From Here: https://composes.stream.centos.org/stream-9/images-gen2/ https://composes.stream.centos.org/stream-10/images-gen2/
Available Images: CentOS-Stream-Azure (aarch64, x86_64) CentOS-Stream-Container-Base (aarch64, ppc64le, s390x, x86_64) CentOS-Stream-GenericCloud (aarch64, ppc64le, s390x, x86_64) CentOS-Stream-Installer (aarch64, x86_64) [1] CentOS-Stream-Vagrant-Libvirt (x86_64) CentOS-Stream-Vagrant-VirtualBox (x86_64) CentOS-Stream-WSL (aarch64, x86_64) CentOS-Stream-ec2 (aarch64, x86_64)
These images will not be getting updates unless we find a problem and need to test the fix. They do point to the regular dnf repos, so you can use them as you do any other image.
We expect the testing to run for at least a month before we implement the change.
Thank You CentOS Stream Team
[1] - New: CentOS-Stream-Installer is a minimal installer, similar to other distributions minimal installer.
