Since we are discussing a S390 port here I'm wondering about the SPARC port. Is there any plans on releasing a Sparc port anytime?

yes :D
Johnny has made much progress, we are working though a few last anaconda issues and hope to have something before the end of this year.
what we can try and do is, post a tree - in whatever shape - online somewhere and have a few people test it and help with the patches. I will look into this within the next few days and see what we can do.
Not only for sparc, but also for ia64 and ppc that we have been working on

I'd be willing to give sparc and ia64 a go. I can even set up a sparc (Blade 150) for testing purpose if someone needs a test server. This was surely some great news.

At the moment, we have a T2000 from Sun and a couple of Netra's that we are using to test on - and the showstopper ( Johnny will have more details on this ) has been anaconda not being happy about a few things... I plan on getting the rusty Ultra10 into production as soon as I get some time to actually get it out of the shed and plugged into a socket.
Then we can see about getting anaconda into some shape.

That makes at least two machines. As a side note. Does someone know how to procure a type 6 or type 7 country kit for such a beast? Preferably a US keyboard. I saw some in the US but shipping costs to the Netherlands may exceed the costs of the keyboard.
