Hi,
Does anyone, with beta version of CentOS 7 installed, could describe the installer artwork requirements? I've downloaded the http://ftp.redhat.com/redhat/rhel/beta/7/source/SRPMS/redhat-logos-69.1.9-1.... file and didn't find any image for anaconda but the syslinux-splash.png file inside it. Is this the only image shown in the CentOS 7 installation process or there is any other image shown in the process. Any idea of related source packages to take a look in?
Best Regards, al.

The installer in the beta is entirely different than what was used in the past and doesn't use the same images at all. I'll see if I can pull it apart and work with you on what's needed.

Thank you Jim. I'll be attentive.
Could you use the http://wiki.centos.org/ArtWork/Themes/Models/Distribution/7/Anaconda page to organize the information you find? Other components' artwork requirements might be organized in their own pages under the http://wiki.centos.org/ArtWork/Themes/Models/Distribution/7/ page as well.

So, upon investigation of the anaconda srpm in the beta, there doesn't seem to be any required artwork. The current fedora installer only has a minor banner at the bottom. I'll keep working on this one, but there doesn't seem to be much needed in the installer.

Does it have any of the little advert-like images similar to the Fedora installer? I'm thinking of little banners that run while the system is busy installing packages to disk. For example:
http://www.tecmint.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/fed-15.jpg
We could do CentOS-specific banners on the bottom.

The beta doesn't include them, but we may be able to include them if the framework is there. I'll continue to look at it.

Following up on this a bit.
Fedora's anaconda uses an 'anaconda-gtk.css' to control some basic look/feel of the installer. While this isn't used in the beta anaconda, the code is there to reference it. In theory, we can drop one in to use it.
Additionally, they reference a pixmaps/rnotes/<language>/image setup which creates the images Karsten was referring to in his email. These are 750x120px in size and can be jpg or png.
The anaconda source from the beta references these locations as well, but since they don't exist they aren't displayed.
By default they're on a 60s rotation, though it seems easy enough to modify that if we wanted to.
I'm of the opinion that these images would be a decent place to advertise SIGs, or to post quick 'FAQ' bits that users are likely to need/use.
Does anyone want to take a shot at a few 750x120 images for this, or recommend other content ideas for the images?

I would recommend that images be produced using Inkscape and saved in SVG format. This makes possible to localized them using xml2po and automate its production.
Personally, I will create one image for each SIG described at http://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup. I will also provide their related .po files in different locales if there is a request for it (I need to know what languages you want to have the images translated for, in order to create their .po files).
Best Regards, al.

+1 on these images. I do not normally comment on this type of thing but I really like these.
Good Job!!
