Hi
I've created a Yum repo definition for the 6 to 7 upgrade tools, installed the tools, run the pre-upgrade assistant and can report back that the assistant ran OK.
I guess I'll now wait for the preupgrade-assistant-contents-0.5.13-1.0.4 rpm that Manuel mentioned.
Any ETA on that?
Cheers, Bert

I have applied the updated information to git.centos.org here:
https://git.centos.org/log/rpms!preupgrade-assistant-contents/refs!heads!c6
I have just arrived back home from OSCON 2014, so I will get this built and pushed sometime soon (I am still connecting all the computing things I brought back with me from the trip and getting back up to 100% here right now). By tomorrow at the absolute latest.
Thanks, Johnny Hughes

New tool is now posted, see this link for how to test:
http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool
Let's test it and get this moved into Extras by next week.
Thanks, Johnny Hughes

So I added the repo and ran "yum install centos-upgrade-tool preupgrade-assistant-contents" and I get two errors.
1) "No package centos-upgrade-tool available."
2) Broken deps: http://paste.fedoraproject.org/123384/62597140
Did I do something wrong?

It's redhat-upgrade-tool . The guide is incorrect

No, it is not your fault. I see the same error using my mirror. I suspect preupgrade-assistant-contents needs a package from the updates repo but its repodata is currently out of sync on the mirrors. Wait a bit until the repodata issue is solved and retry.

I upgraded the wiki ... does this work for you now?
I am not getting feedback ... can we release this package?

So just last week I tried again and it failed. Then I realized hey wait this server is so old it isn't running Centos 6. Its running 5! :( So unfortunately I can't help with this particular test server.
Hi, I tried testing the CentOS upgrade rpms and documentation, by trying to upgrade a (freshly installed) CentOS 6 virtual box image to CentOS 7. I tried following the steps described at http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool as closely as possible.
There was just one minor hiccup. I had to disable gpgcheck after running, centos-upgrade-tool-cli because of the attached error. Apart from that, everything went smoothly, even though I had the EPEL repo enabled.
Cheers, Gaurav Chaturvedi

I concur with Gaurav's findings - I installed a fresh C6 image in my Amazon EC2 instance from the official CentOS marketplace, and changed nothing. I followed the directions from the wiki page, and made it all the way through to the same error Gaurav found.

OK ... one must actually import the CentOS-7 RPM GPG key before starting the upgrade process. That is now in the docs on the wiki.
BUT, just as I was going to release this, Red Hat upgraded it.
So now there is a new set of packages for preupgrade-assistant and preupgrage-assistant-contents in the testing repo.
Can we get some testing of these new packages please?

Yes, thank you for updating the packages to the latest version. The upgrade process works fine for me.
Best regards,
Morten
Hey All, I just tested upgrading Centos 6 ==> 7 with the help of the upgrade tools today. Everything worked out just fine. Thanks to Johnny Hughes for editing the wiki, no more errors.
Thanks, Gaurav
