It's probably the 3Dnow! bug which is fixed for kvm-69.
unfortunately i can't reproduce the kernel crash, now it's usually hang at "starting udev" both centos-5.1 i386 and x86_64. anyway i build kvm-68 and it's working.

Thanks for the report, I'll soon be uploading a newer KVM then ;).
at the same time it'd be useful to merge the fedora and centos spec files too (in kvm-68 i used a spec file based on fedora's spec). the two main differences the bootmenu patch, bios, and the separate qemu package which is already in testing too.
