Coming late to the meeting.. sorry :)
Ideally, I would ilke to see subscription-manager and python-rhsm carried in CentOS. There is no need to make it part of @base as it is upstream, but it would be nice to have them there.

We are going to try and patch it so we lose the GUI Nag and we disable the auto-run for the yum-plugin, that way we can leave it in the same roles / install types and in the base distro for people who want to use it. And it wont complain about 'This machine is not subscribed to RHN'.
Would that work ?
Jim is going to take a stab at patching stuff, I had a brief look and passed along notes to him. Would be good if someone familiar with the codebase upstream could glace over and ack the patch.. once we have it.

Bryan,
Would your team be able to work up such a patch, you know the code better :-)
Carl.

If you wouldn't mind taking a look at the attached patches. Ideally it would be nice to do an 'if centos_ref' check or something similar in the future, but for now it's strictly disabling stuff by default.
Thoughts?
