I am looking for instructions on how to build Centos5 on the s390 platform. I am new to building a distribution but I have the hardware and a base Centos 4.6 to build from. I requested this assistance last November and still have not received any instructions. Please Help!!
Thanks, Ray Hand

Ray -- I did not see your post, nor have I seen a cry for help on the Linux on 390 Port LINUX-390@VM.MARIST.EDU mailing list.
We gone through the testing phase of qualifying a ISV application developed on CentOS on s390 in the IBM chiphopper program.
Please feel free to call me to discuss this during Eastern business hours in the US

If you have the c4 base setup, the rest of the process is easy, you can build the entire CentOS-5 stack using mock running on the c4 base install.
Not sure whats the best process to get you setup for this though. All the configs we use and the mock version as well, is available from the mirror.centos.org setup. The buildgroups we use are at dev.centos.org/
How can we move forward on this ?
Are there any instructions on getting started doing this?
Also where do I get the sources from?
Thanks, ray

w.r.t sources : http://vault.centos.org/5.0/os/SRPMS/
Yes, I recommend starting from 5.0 - once you have this lot done, you can shift over to only building the latest sources against these.
You can get mock from here : http://centos.karan.org/el4/extras/stable/SRPMS/mock-0.6-4.el4.kb.1.src.rpm - that should just rebuild cleanly on you centos-4 install. Also, stick with the mock-0.6* tree, anything more recent than that has issues. Once you have this installed, sanity check /etc/mock/* There are a few examples there that should put you on track to writing up a new config. Just make sure you are using the buildsys-build from dev.centos.org.
And let us know how you are getting on.
