The latest I see is that C5 was released for intellish systems in April, with others to follow.
What's the progress for zSeries?

Building for it is a bitch and needs probably some people to really push through the problems.. however the people wanting it and willing to 'pay' with time or money is small.

That and most folks don't happen to have this amount of high-end horsepower at home.

I was thinking of playing with building Fedora, running it under Hercules, possibly on a P4 that may be liberated from its current duties. Is there an installable (or installed) system I could download?

I am not sure... it would seem that there isnt any of the hardware available.. so my guess is that there isnt any software :).

Hercules emulates enough hardware to run zlinux (and zOS and the latest incantations of VM and OS/VS). At one time I was running Debian (woody, probably) under Hercules.
I s'pose I could start with C4, but it hardly seems satisfactory.
