Happy to help,
We have had a local community effort ongoing for a few years, would the framework of that be sufficient ? if not, what else did you have in mind?

Hi! Sorry for asking twice a time, but what do you mean about a framework ? I'd like to start a channel, for russian-speaking users support. I don't actually belong to centos-dev group, but maybe you can help me with my initiative ?

I dont think there should be a problem - Jim Perrin is the irc co-ordinator, but is traveling till tomorrow. Ralph has been looking at and working with the various language communities in the past, but is also traveling till the coming Monday.

Ok, I'll try to talk to Jim Perrin. What’s his irc-nickname ? Thanks for the help!

I'm Evolution on freenode. I suggested that you ask here as a way to gauge interest in a -ru channel. My concern with creating this channel is mostly that there don't seem to be any distribution 'regulars' who are fluent enough in the language to try to keep order. Are there others on the list who would be willing to help with this initiative?

I think there won't be too much disorder for a while, counting the number of users we will have on, after we start the channel. Later on we can think about someone who help us with... Let me try to gather native-speaking community on a channel. Becasue not all the users can speak English well. Me niether.

can you explain what it is that you are looking for a bit ? I know Jim created the channel and might even be camping in there.

If i understand it as it is, the channel is already created. But the guy, whois is responsible for is unavailable. And i can't actually contact Jim. Tried a few times to 'ping' him in IRC, but still no success. * **>chanserv< info #centos-ru** **-ChanServ- Information on #CentOS-ru:** **-ChanServ- Founder : Dyuran** **-ChanServ- Registered : Aug 03 23:08:13 2009 (4 years, 29 weeks, 4 days, 12:02:13 ago)** **-ChanServ- Last used : Mar 14 11:51:37 2010 (3 years, 49 weeks, 6 days, 23:18:49 ago)** **-ChanServ- Mode lock : +ntc-slk** **-ChanServ- *** End of Info ***** *

I was traveling for the Scale12x conference for the last few days. I'm going to be moving to take ownership of this channel via the freenode staffers today.

The channel ownership has now been changed. I've added you as an admin to the channel so that you can set topic and keep order. I'll lurk in the channel for a while to make sure that everything stays sane in there. Good luck!
