Local Mockbuilds (and a bugfix) in Centpkg

[PATCH 1/4] If outdir is not checked into git... * When SOURCES/ is not checked into git, centpkg creates that directory to download the sources into [PATCH 2/4] Customize the srpm method * Customized the srpm() method to build from the CentOS SRPMS/ directory [PATCH 3/4] Redefine the "target" used for mock and koji builds. * For now we are using the epel-{6,7} mock configs for local builds. DVD split media

Hi As in CentOS-6, I think we should skip the CD isos; there is little point in that ( but we should do the minimal ISO, lets keep conversation about that on its own thread ). The main distro is just a hint over 6.6GB, that means we cant really put all the stuff into a single DVD[1]; so we need to do the splits. In the past, we've done multiple installs making sure that all the installable components from the installer's groups, in english atleast, are all on DVD#1 and the rest can goto DVD#2. I suspect that strategy will work here as well, and does someone want to give it a shot and come up with a list of rpms that are installable via the installer. If anyone is wondering about the rest: yes, there are rpms included in the distro, hosted in the DVD's that are not installable from the groups available to the user at install time. They can certainly be installed from kickstart, but the general assumption is that people doing those sort of installs are likely not doing them from DVD media. Also, there seems to be interest in jidgo; has anyone worked with that in the past ? and whats to help us get that setup as well ? Regards [1]: maybe we should do a single large 6.6GB ISO as well, and have it available only on torrents, for people who might want or have access to that large format media, or people who just want a copy of the primary repo without using rsync. Introducing Centpkg (Comments requested)

Greetings everyone, I spent a little bit of time to see if pyrpkg (https://fedorahosted.org/rpkg/) could help with the "building RPMS from a git repo" workflow. Pyrpkg includes methods that can interact with git (cloning, downloading sources etc), koji, and the local mock/rpmbuild build processes among other things. You may know pyrpkg better as the backend for fedpkg in Fedora. I have a very bare-bones configuration at https://bitbucket.org/bstinsonmhk/centpkg that I thought I would share. Is the community interested in such a tool? If so I'm happy to keep working on it, perhaps with the help of others who are interested? Cheers! C7 - yum groupinstall broken?

Hi all, Using build x86_64-20140630 (and previous [Grrr, I've just noticed x86_64-20140702, I'll try that once I've got it down]), I can do a "yum -v grouplist" and get what looks like the correct output, but when I try installing one of the groups, the following happens - %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% [root@maintsas ~]# yum groupinstall scientific Loaded plugins: fastestmirror There is no installed groups file. el7_0 as dist tag (release mismatch in koji)

Dear All, I'm trying to recompile RHEL packages to i686. Some RHEL source packages has the dist tag el7_0 in it. How do you handle it, when recompiling? Do you keep it by redefining the dist macro? The spec file contains %{dist}, which comes from the /etc/rpm/macros.dist. It contains el7 on RHEL installations. How should I avoid release mismatch in koji? Thank you, Peter Bojtos

once again: epel VS Centos

Before I take this to the EPEL folks, I'd appreciate a sanity check: I did a full reinstall of C7 on my C7 vm a couple days ago (to resolve the caatch-22 on updating the kernel), and subsequent to that I cannot install MATE from epel. "yum group install mate-desktop" gives me these errors (trimmed from all the non-error stuff): Error: Package: mate-control-center-1.8.1-1.el7.x86_64 (epel) Requires: libXss.so.1()(64bit) Error: Package: fortune-mod-1.99.1-17.el7.x86_64 (epel) Requires: librecode.so.0()(64bit) Error: Package: caja-image-converter-1.8.0-1.el7.x86_64 (epel) Requires: ImageMagick Error: Package: mate-screensaver-1.8.0-2.el7.x86_64 (epel) Requires: libXss.so.1()(64bit) Error: Package: atril-libs-1.8.0-2.el7.x86_64 (epel) Requires: libt1.so.5()(64bit) Error: Package: beesu-2.7-19.el7.x86_64 (epel) Requires: usermode-gtk Error: Package: atril-libs-1.8.0-2.el7.x86_64 (epel) Requires: libkpathsea.so.6()(64bit) Error: Package: caja-1.8.0-2.el7.x86_64 (epel) Requires: gamin this did not occur a week or so earlier when I installed Mate from epel on an earlier version of the c7 RC. I don't know where to find those packages, either. With only yum configs for C7 and epel, those packages don't seem to be available.
