So, running this by the list for opinions:
We're going to be moving the Artwork SIG from its current home at https://projects.centos.org/trac/artwork/ (svn) to a new home on git.centos.org.
In this transition, we'd like to clean up some of the older content that's no longer used. The easy way to do this would be to pull current svn repo, strip out the legacy content, and then upload clean into git.
While this is my preference, the drawback is that it removes any commit history for the project prior to the cutover date. The benefit is we have a clean, and more importantly, current starting point to work from for the seven beta build, which we'd like to start putting out in public.
Are there objections to this approach?

Excelent :)

Jim, I've already done this and uploaded the result to https://github.com/areguera/centos-artwork. This repository retains the svn history plus new commits I´ve been pushing locally through time. Would it be possible to consider this?

Certainly. The only thing this doesn't really get us is the ability to clean out some of the older stuff we don't use anymore. We'd have to do a bit of housekeeping first thing to delete some of the older bits. Are you okay with that?

Absolutely. Go for it. In case you need some help, let me know please.
Jim, the repository has some automation scripts wirtten in bash (mainly to automate production of translated images and logo images), do you know if they are being useful? I'm focusing much on them, and it'd be very motivating to have some feedback about it. This, in order to concentrate forces on the correct direction. I do appreciate any consideration very much.
