CentOS Dojo Managua 2019

Hello, with the release of CentOS 8 we are planning to organice a CentOS Dojo in Managua (Nicaragua), this is as far as I know the first CentOS event in Managua, I have a lot of experience setting up Fedora related events and I want to help to promote CentOS as well. Also I made a pull request of the [1] Promo-Artwork repo in github to update some swag ideas and made some CentOS related stuff that share on DeviantArt [2]. Call for content: November newsletter

Relevant topics include: * What interesting things you're working on, in or on CentOS * SIG reports (these have already been requested, but if you have something interesting to report, that would be of interest) * Releases (either of SIG projects, or something else that you're working on) * Tutorials/Howtos * Upcoming events that you would like to promote * Recent events that you attended and want to tell us about Please either contact me directly, or (better yet) post to the centos-promo mailing list (copied here) with your ideas, your articles, or suggestions of who I should be approaching. October newsletter: Promo SIG report

Dear Promo SIG, As documented in the wiki, we request that each SIG reports quarterly about the accomplishments of their SIG during the previous quarter. As you may be aware, your SIG - the Promo SIG - is on the list for November reports. See "Reporting" section towards the bottom of https://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup I encourage you to have a look at the report produced by the Cloud SIG as an example of what we're looking for. It's not onerous - just an overview of releases and community activity over the preceding few months. https://blog.centos.org/2019/01/centos-cloud-sig-quarterly-report/ Reports can be submitted either directly to me, or, if you prefer, you can submit it as a blog post on blog.centos.org. Call for participation/help (CentOS Promo)

Hi, folks, I don't know who, if anyone, is still on this list. It would be great to hear from you all, and what your interest is in this list. Over the last few months, I've been swamped with all manner of things, and the blog, and social media, has suffered as a result. You may have noticed. I need help in keeping these things alive, and filled with useful, non-spammy, content. I'm hoping that either someone here, or someone we can get to join us here, can step up and help make that happen. Places where I need help: * Monthly newsletter. I'm drafting this right now. I'm only a day behind schedule at this point, but having a way to do a running draft all month, and publishing it when it's due, rather than the last-minute scramble, would be awesome. * Monthly newsletter translation. Over the years we have provided the newsletter in a variety of languages. Having some consistency on this would be great. * Twitter. Daily tweets about what's happening in the SIGs important topics on the mailing list, event promotion, would be great. * Facebook. Our facebook page is already pretty active, but an awful lot of it is spammy. Having *quality* content there, daily, would be a huge improvement. * Blog. Useful, technical articles, weekly, would be awesome. But this needs someone to go looking for that content, getting people to write it, running a schedule so that we have regular content. SIG flyers

To a large extent, the SIGs are what make CentOS interesting, and are one of the primary things that I'd like to see us talking about when CentOS is at events. To that end, I'd like to create some flyers - half-page docs - that we can have at events, describing what each (active) SIG does, how to get involved, and how to consume what it produces. I want to start with a flyer that describes SIGs in general, and then make a template that the various SIGs can fill in with relevant information. I will be attempting to have the main SIG flyer, and several of the individual SIG ones, in time for the Dojo at ORNL in April.
