Hi Guys,
I'm trying to get a wish list together for the promo team. Here is what I have so far :
- DVD's ( blank! ) - T-Shirts ( a couple of different colours ) - Caps - Coffee Mugs (?) - Beer Mugs - Linux and CentOS related books - messenger / backpack bag's
Ideally, we could get a few of each into a 'event bag' and send it over wherever an event is taking place.
To this list I'm going to add:
- 50" TV - Couple of laptops - Projector
What else might go onto this list ?
Regards,

The needed money to buy all those items :-)
I'll add a Roll-up (see my previous mail about that) .. unfortunately, no 'official' answer (yet) for that request ...

I want us to stop asking people for donations / money at the promo events and am trying to get someone to sponsor this stuff. There is a slim chance that it might come through ( perhaps not the TV's etc - but the basic stuff might ).

Wasn't Didi going to ask around his local shop for slogan suggestions :)

They said about 80 Euros for a "classic" one with bag. But I found one online [1] for 69,00 €
Cheers Didi

I don't know if there are hidden costs but otherwise that seems a very good price ! Time to ask the centos-promo leader "ack" to order one and see if we can have it for Fosdem 2011 ! :-)

There is no such thing :) I have the money if that somehow helps.
Cheers Didi

I guess it would make sense to find out about costs / delivery details - but is there a design in mind at this point ?
I'll poke around to ask for slogans.

Some more, in suggestions from people: - mousepad's : do people still use those ? - Pen's : if we can get moderately decent quality ones
I guess the aim is to find stuff that would persist with people, be visible and still be of some utility.

But with a preprinted side (fill out the blanks for $arch and $release).
- Coffee Mugs (?)
Those are asked for, but hard to transport if nobody is there by car.
- Beer Mugs
Same here.
- Linux and CentOS related books
Hmmmm. Heavy. Expensive. Too much for a giveaway.
- messenger / backpack bag's
Same here. Totes would be great, though.

I guess so. There are great *very* thin ones, I had two Mandriva pads of those (before they were called Mandriva, but the original name slips my mind right now and I am lazy).
- Pen's : if we can get moderately decent quality ones
Less apostrophes would be great. http://www.angryflower.com/bobsqu.gif
=:)
But otherwise pens are great (maybe pencils).
I am against lan yards, but would like to have more of those fridge magnets.
Frisbees. Not the real ones, but those should be available with print somewhere. Loads of office fun. http://test.actpro.de/showroom/product_info.php?info=p71237_Frisbee-Scheibe-...

maybe we should try and get some of those rubber band rockets that softlayer / adaptec were handing out. Wonder where we might get some of those.

- Lanyards ?
Blank DVD are not really useful because we have to print them on one side. So I would suggest printed DVDs on one side and blank on the other. So we can burn the required amount dynamically.
