The wiki page http://wiki.centos.org/Events/LinuxTag2009 has a list of things to bring. But who brings what? Maybe people could mark the items they will bring so we see what is still missing.

Normally Dag has a big box with all that stuff. Are you bringing it this time Dag? Maybe we could get some T-Shirts? Is it possible to post some?

It is unclear whether I will come. Brenda cannot take holidays and I don't plan on driving 7h by myself, especially because I normally have to work during that weekend. (If I am coming, I do need to work on Sunday)
I am seeing with Tim Verhoeven. If he is coming we would drive together and then it is feasible, otherwise I don't know what we are going to do with the gear :-/
BTW The flyers are 2.5 years old by now (and still current !! :p)

I can pick it up on my way over from Bournemouth (UK), as I am driving past your house on my way to Berlin and could take it back to HAR? Is that a solution? Otherwise we can drive together to Berlin but I can't join you on the way back.

If you point me to a file I can update it and print some, if I can't pop by your place. Or if someone steps up to design a new one with the 5.3 style that would be nice.
Cheers Didi

The main problem is that the people who created the original lost the source. If people would be using the Wiki for everything, this could not happen (well, attachement aren't versioned, so it is still possible)

Depending on my exams and some other planning issues I might be able to make it to LinuxTag, I would only be able to come from Thursday to Saturday. But I am waiting for my final exam schedule, as I also need to plan some other work related issues, hopefully I will know by next week.
If I do come, I can give Dag a ride back.
Maybe there should be a promo subversion and trac, where we can also put our presentations, for people using LaTeX for presentation, this would be very nice feature.
I don't mind designing or just making the sources for some newer flyers or the other material, like the business cards, and the stickers. I would like to have the old ones to base the new ones on as I think the design and text is very good.

Agreed - if we really need new flyers we should definitely design new ones (that match the new design, even though i personally don't like it) and we should print *much* less flyers.
Maybe the per-flyer-price gets cheaper if you print more, but that doesn't help if you don't need that many.

Well, the current ones are not that bad and it saved us some time making new ones every year ;-)
But I don't mind if we start already on the new flyers. It shouldn't matter that we may not need them for another 6 months.

I was told that the original Scribus files were stored on Gideon's computer and somehow were lost. And other people still had older versions.
Who ordered the printed flyers we have now ?
But I want new flyers anyway, *if* we have to print new ones.
Yes, but I liked the design of the flyers we currently have. Not too big, thick paper, logo cut in two. We definitely could improve the wording and make a better message.
I also would like to add a graph or something. Maybe showing the numbers of unique downloads over time or something that attracts people.
We still have enough flyers though :-)

I ordered them, but I had only a TIFF...
IIRC the flyers were designed for Fosdem 07, so they're older than 2 years. I think it states "the next release will include Xen", but they aren't really outdated - I guess we could even use them for another two years. Having said that, I'd like to say that we should probably delay the new flyers until we eventually know what new features will go into CentOS 6 and write something about these.
We still have enough flyers though :-)
Indeed.

I can print them at work, we have hp color laserjet printers and I recently printed a booklet, I was surprised how good the quality was. It isn't like an offset printer, but the quality is good, if I were to use specialized paper it would be better.
I can print with my clj on paper max 200g/m2, I have some 120g/m2 here. If we use A5 format we can get 2 per A4 so again cost are not that high per flyer, or we could go for A6 making 4 fit on a page.
Should we not standardize this process already? And maybe make some new designs, multiple versions to appeal to more people and to highlight different points or application of CentOS.
We still have enough flyers though :-)
Indeed.
Maybe we need to distribute them more, or were there so many printed at the time.

I won't be able to make it, thesis defense date has been set by my panel for Thursday 25/06

I'm ordering Exhibitor passes for you guys right now. These have to be reclaimed *ON TUESDAY* (which is one day before LinuxTag opens its doors), when people are supposed to set up their booths.
If there is *ANY* problem with that, I can also give out normal Entrance passes, but you *CANNOT* enter the Messegelände with those on Tuesday.

I think they are open until 22:00 on Tuesday, they're infomails don't say anything about that, though. I know they were open till much after 20:00 in the last two years.

CentOS is in Hall 7.2A, booth 101b - no booth sharing this time (though the Videolan guys were cool, send my greetings), and it looks to be positioned a tad better than last year.

is the CentOS booth. Is there anything missing? (I like how it has a table and two small info points - you can put a Laptop on those just nicely).
I need to answer them tomorrow if anything is needed.
